Loyalty need to work both ways in any relationship. If Lee isn't being shown the same loyalty that he is willing to show, why would he stay? What is the Islanders offer - they've had a year to get his contract sorted.

Yeah. I think the issue is term based on my readings. Lou doesn't want to give term, which makes sense I guess. However he can get it elsewhere.

If they lose Lee, they are screwed though. Seems like they have tons of cap space, they should pay their captain IMO.

You won’t find a better leader and person than than Lee. That’s a fact. Maybe as good but this guy is a natural born leader. Not like 99% of the captains that get the C because they’re the best players on a team.
