I'd say top 50, maybe even a bit higher than someone like a Martin Frk relative to his peers (though totally different players). Good overall package, and improving, but I just can't shuck the impression that I'd be a bit of a homer calling him a 1st rounder, considering some of the other guys out there.

I'd be shocked if he fell past 20th tbh

ISS hockey has him at #13

Screams Jets pick. They pick him a little earlier than expected, and in a couple years everyone wonders how the heck they drafted the guy where they did (in a good way).

Very impressive prospect, fear around scouts is he is peaking already,

Good value for any team that drafts him between 17-25.

Yeah, he needs to work on his skating, but if that's possible, he could be a high-end guy.
The scouts fear is probably still that he's a product of Ehlers.
Really wondering how he'll turn out because I can't decide right now if he has it to make it in the big league or not.

He's on Sportsnet Friday night hockey right now. Not sure which SN channel but he's playing on one of them in Canada.

Seems to me like a high end complimentary player.

Won't drive the play, but he makes elite players better as much as they make him better. Pretty much by playing a "simple game" at a high level - finding soft open ice, forechecking hard, and taking the chances that the elite player gives you.

I've always really liked the way he sticks up for Ehlers.

As a Jets fan I like him, but I'd be taking him with the 2nd of our 1st rounders if he's still available. I'd sooner grab a "driver" type player with the earlier pick.

Timo extends his point streak to 22 games with an assist so far tonight. This kid is money, reminds me of Mark Recchi.

Timo Meier set up the Fortier goal to extend his consecutive point scoring streak to 23 games. Meier picked up first star honours for his three-point effort and increased his team leading goal total to 32.

I doubt anyone saw a 23 game point streak coming from him before this season started... Figured he wouldn't out goal Gadoury either.

He`s really starting to grow on me. Although, that also means that he probably won`t be available when the Habs are on the clock.

This is turning out to be a strong crop for the Q in 2015.

Most of the time, but he's very impressive in his own right.

Yah that's what I thought. I've watched him 12 times I think this season and have always been very impressed with him. In my own mock draft I had him ranked top 20 or so when everyone else had him as a mid 2nd 3 or 4 months ago

I'll be rooting for the Jets to go to at least the conference finals so that their pick and the one we gave them will be behind our 2nd 1st and buffalo can take him lol.

He doesn't have Ehler's hands, but you're absolutely on point with your comment. He's playing with a lot of confidence, and attempting plays he wouldn't have last season. He always had a big frame, but it seems as though he's learned how to use it now to shield the puck, forecheck harder, and bump other players off the puck.

His progression in the last year is fantastic.
Agree with all this. I thought his rookie camp with Ehlers they both looked good but he kind of fizzled and Ehlers had a breakout rookie season. How much has changed in one year... man
