VT Fantasy Draft - Discussion Thread (NEEDS THREE MORE GM'S)

ATTENTION: THREE GM'S HAVE BEEN FIRED DUE TO MISSING THEIR FIRST 3 PICKS OF THE DRAFT. WE HAVE TWO SPOTS AVAILABLE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE OVER EITHER THE EDMONTON OILERS, OR THE PHILADELPHIA FLYERS, THEN PLEASE DO SO!
If you are interested in signing up for this fantasy draft then please post what team you would like to represent (must be an NHL team)​



[FIELDSET="Rules"]
  • Total of eight teams will make the playoffs.
  • You may only draft players that were drafted in years 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 & 2005
  • The draft will contain of 20 rounds.
  • You must pick 4 centers, 4 left wingers, 4 right wingers, 6 defense-man, 2 goalies.
  • Draft order will be randomized.
  • Draft hours will go from 3:00pm - 12:00am (EST) From Monday - Friday (You may still make your picks at any other time but you won't be auto'd during the night time and up until 3:00pm, I figure most of us have work or school during those hours.)
  • On Weekends Draft hours will go from 11:00am - 12:00am (EST)
  • Trades are allowed.
  • Trade window will open once I open the draft thread (aka once all 20 teams are established)
  • Any trade that is discussed must be sent to me for it to be finalized.
  • I will post trades in this thread (the sign-up/discussion thread)
  • There will be a 3 hour clock between picks. If a team does not make their pick in that span, the pick will be skipped, the draft will continue. That skipped pick will remain skipped for a full day, giving the GM time to make the pick. If it still remains skipped after a day, it will be auto'd. (Go to page 6, post 129 for full rules involving picks)
  • A message must be sent to the poster with the next pick in order to notify him.(so if you have the 1st pick, you must send a message to the poster who has the 2nd pick notifying him that he's on the clock)
  • After the draft is finished, there will be a 12 hour trade window, this will be the final 12 hours of any transactions, after that is up, no deals are allowed.
  • After the final trade window, there will be a vote to determine the order of the teams in the standings.
  • After the votes, the top 8 teams will qualify for the playoffs, where there will be another vote to determine who moves on and eventually the winner.
  • If you feel that you won't be able to make the three hour draft clock, please try to send me a list of players you would like to draft so you can still possibly get the player you want
  • Important After the Champion is determined, there will be another entry draft which will include all 2006 Draftee's. The worst team (the team that gets the fewest votes and finishes last place) will get the first pick, kind of like in the NHL. Another season will begin, and then after THAT season finishes, there will be a draft which will include all 2007 Draftee's. Again the worst team will get first pick. So it is kind of like building a franchise. (I'm not entirely sure though we will get through two seasons)
  • After the season ends and the champion is determined, there will be a three day off-season.
  • Three days after the season ends, an entry draft will be held.
  • Trade window will re-open when the season ends.

And actually I was just thinking of something.

What if the draft included players eligible of the 2003, 2004, & 2005 draft, then after the season ended and the winner was determined, then the entry draft would include of players from the 2006 draft. Then after that season, the 2007 draft would take place, and so on and so on.

or is the other way around better?

edit: yeah I'm gonna do it this way. So the original draft that will be held after we have the 30 teams will include players that were only drafted in 2003, 2004, and 2005.

I think the 2003,2004,2005 idea is better.

Well I was thinking the draft hours will go from 3:00 PM until 12:00 AM est.

But like I said if you feel like you can't make a pick send me a list of players.


(btw you and I'm old Gregggg are added)
