Trading away Jack Johnson for Jeff Carter opened the door for Voynov to get more ice time, and he did not disappoint. He finished with 20 points in 54 regular-season games, including leading all Los Angeles blueliners in even-strength points per 60 minutes (1.0) and coming in second on the team in puck possession (7.8 Corsi relative to his teammates). During the Kings' championship run, he averaged more than 21 minutes of ice time in the Stanley Cup finals and showed there is tremendous upside ahead.
