Kuznetsov quite easily, coming off a down year, but still a 1C

Tarasenko's shoulder is too much of a question mark
Voracek is pretty consistent, worth it if you need a playmaking winger
Duchene and Johansen, well theyre just disappointing

Voracek is probably the best current player here. Tarasenko has been the best and if he regains that is a force.

Kuznetsov... he just seems like an expensive second line center right now. Good player, cool playoff pedigree, but maybe not a current game changer.

2 of those players (duchene and johanson) don't come close to the other 3 imo at any point in their career, let alone now.

I'd argue against that.

Voracek can still score at a solid topline pace and has just three years left.

gap

Kuznetsov is the more talented scorer but he's toxic right now. Most teams can't fit his cap hit or his personality in their room, I see a limited market.

gap

Tarasenko is a gamble with his health situation, though a team might take the risk if he comes free.

gap

Johansen is still a solid two-way guy and can raise his game in the playoffs, he's just terrible value for his effort level in the regular season. He'd need some retention.

gap

Duchene has 5 years left, and is a passionless puke of a player at this point. Shouldn't be worth anything even with 50% retention.

Kuznetsov, on accounts that his talent and health are intact, he’s just lazy and uninspired.

The other guys are washed up or severely affected by injuries. If Tarasenko can be healthy again, he’s easily the best of the bunch.

I'll go with Kuzy here, although I really think Tarasenko has some good years left.

I also have a feeling Duchene has a lot to prove, and if he ends up on a potent offensive team, he will prove that he's still a solid NHL player.

If Kuznetsov could get his head out of his arse, he could be the best of the bunch. That doesn't appear to be happening.

If you can get him going Kuznetsov, hasn't looked like the same player since the Cup final

Hate to say it, but you could add Erik Karlsson to that list as well. And he and Duchene would be in the basement tier together by themselves.. untouchable contracts until they play their way out of these holes they have dug themselves into.

Honestly, the Sens dont get enough credit/receive more hate than they deserve for not only dodging the Duchene and Karlsson contracts, but actually making proper use of them. Two of those contracts on one team would be an absolute decade of desperation for even the wealthiest of teams.

Yes they could have likely signed Stone too if the Sens were committed towards keeping the band together... But even Stone and his 10m/yr cap hit, his recent lackluster playoffs, and his long ass contract that he is likely a retired player by the end of (no legs) - And he might deserve to be on this list too, mayhaps?

Sure, he would be #1 on this list if we put him there today - and likely get a good prospect or half decent bag of small goodies. But Mark Stone is one decent injury and/or down year statistically away from being seen as an overpaid and aging player on a terrible contract. Hes not a great skater at all, and this contract goes until hes 35. Thats a heck of a gamble for any team imo.

Tarasenko just has the injury history. If it weren't for the shoulder issues he'd still be one of the premier players in the league. For that reason, he's out.

Duchene is clearly at the end of the list. So far at the end that the printer spat out a couple blank pages before getting to his name, solitary and alone on a page.

Voracek/Kuznetsov

(gap)

Tarasenko

(larger gap)

Johansen

(vast yawning chasm)

Duchene
