Honestly surprised to see Heatley dominating this poll, he was trash defensively and played on maybe the best top line we've seen since the 05 lockout

Heatley at his best was a much greater threat offensively, but you'd better have some good defense behind him. So, I'd take Heatley since offense generally comes at a premium.

Tarasenko for me.

Heatley's #'s dropped pretty fast while Tarasenko appears pretty consistent.

Tarasenko just scored 68 points. Heatley scored more points than that 6 times in his career.

Heatley had his first 80 point season in 2002, and his last 80 point season in 2010. That’s as long as Tarasenko’s NHL career so far.

I guess it's a good thing this poll is asking about their prime and not their career.

Edit - Not to mention, over his 13 year NHL career, Dany Heatley AVERAGED 75 points per 82 game season. What's Tarasenko's career high?

Heatley pre car crash on Atlanta was an absolute super star. He was propped up by Spezz and Alfie in Ottawa, id take Tarasenko prime over Heatley as an Ottawa Senator.

My math shows Heatly with 12 seasons in the NHL with an average of 75 pts per season in 82 games (didn't count Anaheim 2014/2015)...0.91 PTS per game

Tarasenko thus far with 7 seasons under his belt he's averaging 69 pts per season in 82 games...0.84 PTS per game.

Close, but Heatley does have the edge.
