I believe Mojo and Coyle clicked in the playoffs?
yeah, they played 209 minutes together in the playoffs. Krejci & Mojo played 20 minutes together. Like I said, Cassidy had made up his mind that Mojo & Coyle would be a pair by that point. There's really not enough info there to say that Krejci & Mojo wouldn't have produced together if the minutes were flipped. Like I said, they looked terrific together in the regular season, but Bruce obviously liked having 74/46 and 90/13 as pairs on the 2nd & 3rd lines. But it wasn't because "Mojo was far better with Coyle". In any case it led to the best version of Charlie Coyle we've ever seen so it's hard to 2nd guess it, but it doesn't change the fact that it left them with a choice between David Backes & Karson Kuhlman at 2RW, but hey let's keep blaming Krejci for not dragging those 2 across the finish line.

The anti-Krejci rhetoric is kinda weird, honestly. We’re not talking about a guy dragging his feet while playing with Marchand and Pastrnak, in fact he looks terrific with them, we’re talking about a guy who’s given spare parts or guys who frequently serve as healthy scratches as his wings. It’s not about finding the “right” fit with Krejci, it’s about giving him dependable wingers who compete and buy in on a nightly basis.

this is honestly so obvious to me that frankly to suggest otherwise feels like trolling.

i should probably stop wasting my time trying to convince people the sky is blue.

mostly because the NBA'S TDL
Hmm, but I don't know what the NBA TDL has to do with everyone having very circular conversations about David Krejci ad nauseam, a majority of which aren't about trades or even acquiring players. There's a thread about him, that they can do that in, that was my point at least.

As for the topic on hand.
We need 2nd line wingers

Eventual replacements for Bergeron/Krejci.

That would be my main goals, maybe even some players overlap those needs.

D Jakob Zboril

While his NHL stat line is not yet impressive the fact that he stepped into NHL duty seamlessly and has held his own just fine in his rookie season shows he is NHL ready.
He is a projected second pairing D with good skating, passing, and a tricky and aggressive shot we have already seen in the NHL. While not necessarily a goal scorer he sets up transition
and makes smart plays in both zones. He uses his quick snapshots to set up rebounds and tip-ins, or at the very least keep the pressure on the defense and goaltender.

Vladar and Zboril are NHL-ready players with good upside.

Garland has had a decent first few years. He crested 20 goals once and has not yet gotten 40 pts. Stats show a 3rd line forward at this point.

Garland is an RFA this summer, so he is team-controlled. Doubtful he goes to arbitration as he has one good year and so far has been projecting down.

He is listed as 5'10" and 165lbs by CapFriendly. Which shows he is very undersized.

While I do not know how he is personally now, he has a history of attitude problems and being a locker room issue.

What we do know is that if he is being shopped in his RFA year, that alone speaks volumes.

This is not a player Boston needs nor wants. He provides no better scoring than what we already have, smaller size, and possible locker room issues.

I would say the offer for Zboril/Vladar for Garland is not only an overpayment for Garland, but a deal that has a large possibility of being a bust for Boston. Zboril and Vladar are all trending up, Garland is trending down. Boston loses two good young pieces to their team and only gains one back that does not move the needle offensively any more than what we have now.

Your right again, this is just a bad offer and bad deal.

Boston says no.
How do you get Zboril to be a top 4 and Garland a third liner when he projects to about 70 points over 82gp third year.?

Pretty darn close I think.

I think so also, and I also ask this: is he as good or better than any of the other wing options we currently have in Boston outside the top line? Again, I think so. That said, Friedman mentioned teams are interested. Well we could say that about a lot of players. I don't imagine we see this guy in spoked B any time soon.

I’ve wanted him for a while now. He fits what we need and is young. This is the type of player worth giving up a first and or prospects for

Do you see Krejci buying in every night? It’s a team wide issue but he’s been invisible more times than not.

so he’s even reason Jake was doing great yet gets no criticism for him this season? What happened? Didn’t Krejci once say the effort isn’t always there regular season from him at one point in his career?

Just saying, this thread exists: Player Discussion - David Krejci VI

Haven't seen a whole lot of trade proposals, rumors, or suggestions recently.
the problem is that where people stand on David Krejci ultimately determines what we think we need to acquire in a trade. Do we need a 2C or a 2RW? If you think Krejci is washed, then that totally changes the whole trade proposal discussion.

83 plays a little like 63. Didn't really know much about Garland but I did the same as BD and watched some video's on him. I like what I see based on highlights. Wouldn't have a problem with this guy as the addition up front.

Most of the Krejci conversation hasn't been that. There's a thread people can praise or complain.

Ideally, I'd get a young forward that can play wing or center. As Bergeron/Krejci fade out, he slides over.

Which boils down to everyone agreeing we need a winger of some sort. Ideally, I'd prefer one that can play center as well, but hardly required.

Sweeney needs to make a trade for one IMO (2c), Coyle is a 3c and nothing better.. Guessing it won't happen this year. You are looking at points. He has ZERO goals and 8 assists 5 v5. No matter how much Bruins fans whine about officiating they are going to play the playoffs mostly 5v5 like they do every year. He has ONE even strength assist every THREE games. For 7 million that sucks, I'm sorry. This team as a whole isn't great 5v5, Bergeron included, and when your second line center basically starts 2/3 of the time in the OZone, and averages one 5v5 assist every three games that's not good enough.
How quickly we forget playoff Krejci. Ultimately do we care what Krejci does before the post season, as long as we make it and he puts up anything similar to his 12 points in 13 games last post season?

The Bruins getting rid of historically their best playoff performer this year based on a 24 game sample would be very silly imo.

Garland would really be a good fit for the Bruins I think. A RW in his prime who creates and actually finishes 5v5? Sign me up.

Hell, I'd consider taking Goligoski too if they're looking to save some cash. Not sure what the story is with him this year, just two assists in 32 games, but last year he put up 32 points from the blueline. Anyone watch him this year? Is he washed or what?

It’s not weird at all, it’s the most predictable thing that happens on HFBruins. That and, “Should we tank this year or try to compete for a cup?”.

Since 2013, 64 games . 11 g 31 s 42 pts. He hasn't been our best play-off performer in quite some time. he is generally superb one series and mediocre the next. Guessing that's pretty normal tho for NHL players

Yep- those and if the team has a losing skid "blow it up, Fire Sweeney" and if they lose to a "heavy" team (no matter why), "Bruins need to get bigger and tougher!!!"

personally if I were Sweeney it would ne Jake, Vaak, 1st and something for Forsberg and Bjork, 2nd and something for Palmieri (50% retained) and hope for the best.
