A quick look at posting history and it looks like he's a Flyers fan that moved into the Triangle. Not sure about the TSN guy. A quick google search shows he did or does teach fitness walking, badmitten and the like at NCSU.
....which, of course, raises the obvious question, just exactly what sort of teaching has to happen to teach "fitness walking".

Sorry man, I'm a Raleigh native and have never known TSN to mean anything other than the Canadian company. And I would not relish the thought of a tussle with their legal team.

I hope this reaction doesn't discourage you from continuing on with this, but my thoughts are basically the same as Hank's. It's good to see someone new covering our team, but I would urge you to rethink your branding (or least avoid using the TSN acronym).

I must thank you. I was this close to registering for a similar class at my local gym but now won’t need to. You’ve saved me a lot of money.

I am a Flyers/Canes fan. Been here for 23 years, since the age of 10. In 97 the Flyers were in the finals and the Canes came to NC. Been in love with hockey ever since.

I've mainly posted on Flyers boards in the past but want to contribute a bit more here as well.

Ah, good to know.
One of the reasons for posting here is that the Flyers board is so damn up tight [MOD] I enjoy the more laid back and humorous atmosphere here. I've always lurked here though.

Okay, so the editor-in-chief of Triangle Sports Network, and presumably one if not both of our mystery posters, is Peter Koutroumpis.

Peter Koutroumpis also appears to be the only writer on the staff of Triangle Sports Network.

Look, man, I appreciate the hustle. I really do. And I get that you're trying to build a brand and look bigger than you are. But these are literally your first posts on our little forum here, and I gotta say, it's not a great look!

We've got a few writers here who double as press/blogger types. Totally cool, totally welcome, especially since you're actually local. But don't come at us like you're "The View From Press Row" with some kind of sekrit handshake access. It's just gonna make us mock you mercilessly.

Good luck with TSN.

Thanks for the input/reply.

No hustle and mocking intended Hank.

I am an actual credentialed media member for not only the Carolina Hurricanes for the past six years, but NC FC (formerly RailHawks), Duke, NC State, UNC, PGA/LPGA, to name a few.

Not just writing opinion as a press/blogger type - this site is operated as media property of a registered business.

Freelance writers and photographers work for the site when needed and according to budget available for the assignment.

I'll post articles as they're put out on the site for fans, who know of or haven't yet heard of Triangle Sports Network (TSN).

Please note, no apologies, changes regarding the use of TSN needed, or will be made.

The branding is very different.

TSN in Canada is a sports media entity there (partially owned by ESPN (minority share)), as is/was another TSN, the Sports Network - a former sports news wire service based out of Philadelphia, that was acquired by STATS.

Just as there is/are more than one individual named John Smith, there is/are more than one TSN.

Read coverage as you like, from another credentialed source, or not; your choice.

Nothing in presentation will change on these boards - you now know TSN in the Triangle provides another voice/perspective of coverage for NHL and Hurricanes fans alike, among other sports as well.

I hope that clarifies some things for you and others.

Again, thanks for reading.

JEWKD,

As Canes fans are, Flyers fans are passionate about their team.

I like following the fan Twitter interactions during such contests, and I know its even more intense in the stands.

You might remember reading this coverage, but a few years ago (2016) during the playoff run, NBC/Comcast called me to 'string' for them when they visited PNC Arena.

Tim Pinnachio had injured his ankle and didn't travel to cover that one as a result.

I wrote 4 totals posts pre- and post-game:

(Go to right sidebar for the 3 other related posts that day)

If you remember, the Flyers eventually gutted it out and made the playoffs.

Unfortunately, the Canes didn't.

I will tell you, and Canes fans reading here, that what we (media) see/hear in the dressing room that fans can't/don't always is attitude following a win or loss.

I remember Vorachek, Simmonds, and Coutourier specifically pointing out/stating emphatically that they would make it.

Never heard that from the Carolina room during that stretch which was during a tense time as Eric Staal was eventually traded to New York.

Not that they didn't believe it or try to, but they never said it in any confident way as the Flyers had.

There was a lot going on there for the remainder of the season.

Just some observations you would be interested in looking back on.

PK

Bringing this back to topic, it's absolutely true that the Canes are a team that needs a particular flow and timing in order to be effective. They flat-out don't perform when their opponent disrupts the timing of their breakouts -- largely because they still don't have the talent in place to dominate on an individual level. Too often, opposing pressure turns into panic plays where a Cane either sends the puck out of reach of his target, flubs it off a skate or stick, or just dumps it to a space and retreats. That stuff adds up over the course of the game, and we end up with tilted ice like we saw against Calgary.

The man who made me wear the dossier said he was from model agency, showed me his business card and everything. My portfolio needed it to show my versatility.

The calendar really let me show off my versatility

Agree, but even though his OP touched on that, his article didn't go into it at all. A rather disappointing article that read like a box score with a few player quotes.

Of which you appear to be the only employee. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Again: you're not the only credentialed media member here. You're not the only stringer here. Don't oversell your access. It just makes us question your credibility.

Always have lived in NC, currently live in Chapel Hill. Definitely thought this was from the same TSN that you all thought it was from.

Unfortunate name for someone covering hockey.

It isn't unfortunate. Just simple pilfering of good will by an off-brand through targeted logo design and name selection. Fairly common today. Same as LastWord___ iterations you see.
