I went Defensive D-man for the first time last night. A smaller one (~6'3, 215 lbs), but with the hitting and strength perks up. Basically my entire game last season, at defense, was as a Puck Moving D-man. I like the skating and like to defend aggressively and attack guys with my stick and then attack offensively, but they made it really really hard. I felt like I couldn't do anything to strip guys with pucks besides mash stick lift, but I could knock anyone off the puck now and just do my usual stuff on-puck; barely noticed a difference passing. Skating was surprisingly good too. Idk why but I felt faster than TWD. Maybe need to test that out again.

It does and doesn't though. You can no longer get poke checks from behind and through the body and other ridiculous angles. I'm okay with that. I've played defense in a competitive league; I know I shouldn't have gotten the poke checks the game allowed.

I like how the stick lift doesn't get penalized (though it's a little OP) because it's the proper play from behind or along the wall. Hitting is too OP, and it's basically turned into NHL Hitz. The game rewards you for chasing, even just bumping. The poke check has simply become too inconsistent. You either make contact or take a penalty; there is rarely an in between. I will be square to the forward and gapped up off the rush, puck in front of me, and my poke check gets laser guided into the feet. It means I just have to skate backwards and angle them off or go for a hit. I hate playing passive and not causing more turnovers in the NZ. It desperately needs tuning, unless they want to throw the poke check baby out with the bath water.

Do you play full 6v6/5v5? Years and years ago, I played on a a team that was usually ranked around 75ish on the 360, but we usually played 3v3 or 4v4. Nowadays, I play with my brother and two of my cousins, and we're decent, but not a top team by any stretch of the imagination.

I've actually feel like I've done OK hitting as a PMD this season - difference is I have to build up speed much more than I would if I played as a DD or TWD. Works well at the blue line or directly behind the net, but isn't anywhere near as effective anywhere else.

Still agreed on poke checking. I feel like this year I've had to player looser this year and use my poke check as a deterrent and go for the shot block rather than attempting to knock the puck loose.

I still have my original FFVII disks (non-greatest htis version, thank you very much!). I never played the first Wild Arms and I'm surprised that was a choice for this mini. I played the third on PS2, loved it, then went and got the 2nd used.

As do I! It will be buried with me lol

I don't remember if my copy is Greatest Hits or not.

I do still have a PSX that has the Parallel I/O port in the back. I wish I had the one that separated all of the audio ports though. Those are early and rare. Used that Parallel port for a GameShark.

I'd have to check mine to see if it had one. I should still have all my old consoles in boxes. I got mine used from my friend back in the day and I think he had his since launch. I'll probably still have to flip the thing upside down but it would probably still work eventually. I'd LOVE to play Tomba! again.

No surprise to me. It’s a gem.
I preordered it last night. It’s odd that they only released 5 of the 20 games though.
For me, I’m hoping they include Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Twisted Metal 1&2, Marvel vs Capcom, Diablo (they must have this), Silent Hill.
I’m sure they will include Symphony of the Night, that game gets pimped out more than Skyrim.

I still have my FF7, Diablo, Wild Arms, and Marvel vs Capcom.

I never played Diablo, but Diablo 2 was the bomb of all bombs - maybe my 2nd favorite game ever, after Return to Castle Wolfenstein. One of those Castlevania games was way up there too, but I can never remember which it was - maybe it was Symphony. There was a great Batman game for the old Nintendo too, come to think of it.

Batman Returns for SNES is a classic

Of course My Pro got drafted by the Sabres, fml,

Yeah I played a 6v6 the other night in EASHL. It was 0-0 into quadruple OT when we finally scored on some garbage/glitchy goal.

I like this NHL game a lot tho

Oh and my Xbox GT : iiklutchxshot

I want Soul Reaver too. I'd give damn near anything for Amy Hennig to be allowed to come back for one final game and finish the Legacy of Kain series. She's done with Uncharted for Naughty Dog and I don't know what she's currently working on, but DO KAIN, DAMMIT!

You know what I was thinking of the other day - I wonder if people on here felt like it, if we could get a list of the best single player, offline games around - can be past or present, but both would be better. This is a selfish request, and don't get thrown by my terminology if it's off - I just don't like multiplayer games, and my internet seems too dodgy to count on.

I actually don't own that to be honest, but I want to . I didn't buy it yet because I have yet to play through and beat:

Yakuza 0
God of War
Horizon Zero Dawn
The Last Guardian
Super Mario Odyssey
Breath of the Wild
Quantum Break
Get Even
Bioshock 2
Octopath Traveler

I have way too many games I should play through. I may wait for a sale on Spiderman.

These 2 games make me want to buy a Switch.

I listen to a gaming Podcast called "New Player Has Joined." It's these 2 comedians who bring on a different notable guest every week to discuss their all-time favorite game. Entertaining stuff. Well anyway, they always rant and rave about those 2 games..and Bioshock 2 as well.

Odyssey was very fun. A throwback to Mario 64 days. Still need to 100% though, just beat the main story. Have to get BoTW, last Zelda game I got through was Twilight Princess.

Bioshock 2 is the only one of the 3 that I never beat. Hell, I've played System Shock 2 more than that game.

I bought the Super Mario Odyssey Switch bundle (Mario red controllers, Mario Odyssey carrying case with it, and a digital copy of the game) and I bought Breath of the Wild and Mario X-Com with it. I only own 4 games (that I've bought), with the 4th game being Octopath Traveler Wayfayer Edition (which hasn't been opened yet). Waiting on SSB though. That's gonna be real good.

I've never beaten any Zelda game. The only game I got close was Link to the Past on the GBA. I do still have a sealed Twilight Princess HD for the Wii U and it's the one that comes with an Amiibo in it.

Seems like the Telltale studios are going under. Incredibly sucky news
I never enjoyed their style of “game”. Then again I hated the first god of war for robbing me of killing bosses by using QuickTime button events.
