Nine games into his NHL career, Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad has netted his first NHL goal, and it was an important one, to boot, as the goal stood as the game-winner in the Panthers’ 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.
The goal came on a Panthers’ power play with less than five minutes to go in the third period. Stationed at the right point, Ekblad took a feed from Panthers’ defender Brian Campbell and blasted a shot past Flyers’ goaltender Steve Mason to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead.… read more
