</p>When last the two countries met in a high level junior competition, Team USA defeated Team Finland*in overtime by a 2-1 score to win the gold medal at the 2015 U18 World Championship. Roughly four months later, Finland was able to exact a bit of revenge for that*loss by defeating the USA by a 5-1 score on the first day of the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
