Would be good for the team if hes in the NHL. Maybe others will learn a thing or two from him regarding how to shoot with him practicing with them...

Eichel should be able to get Olofsson the 1/4 second he needs to get the shot off at ES
No way I put him with Eichel. I keep Olofsson, Nylander and Asplund together. That Swedish line has serious chemistry, keep them in the AHL building on that, bring all 3 up together next season, or, if moves can be made and they are fully ready, mid-season.

He should stay down for a couple more weeks. Let Goalofsson put up 25pts+/20gms for a call up. Set the bar high - you’re not getting a call up unless you are dominating.

The one point that Botterill bought in with Pittsburgh was young players earning a spot and immediately and consistently being better than their replacement (Thompson May be an exception?).

Granted, I would love a comment on how Olofsson looks defensively. He’s an offense - first type player so my expectation is that if he’s called up he needs to generate at least replacement level defense.

If an injury occurs he should definitely be the first call up, though

His release is in the top 5% of NHL players.

The way he's tooling AHL goaltenders is incredible. You can almost see it in their reactions that they're saying to themselves "WTF just happened?"

When he comes up, he needs to be on the RW half-wall, opposite Jack. That shot is too much of a weapon to put anywhere else. And once other NHL teams realize that, it'll also open up space for Eichel.

I know that, you know that, we all know that, but does Phil know that? likely not. I'd put money down on him playing the likes of Pominville/Okposo/Berglund/Sobodka and not producing before getting the slightest look along side Eichel.

Olofsson - Eichel - Reinhart should be a no brainer...

I’m pretty sure @Zip15 is referring to PP usage with him on the RW half wall opposite Jack. Not the 5v5 line he should be on.

I fear he will come up play 8 minutes a game on Sobotka's wing.

People need to slow down

If you can shoot like that on the pp, the rest can get worked or buried in the bottom 6, and then come onto the ice for pps like Rick Vaughn, “wild thing” blasting in the background with pyrotechnics!

The thing is VO has the potential to be more than a PP specialist but he has a lot to work on. The AHL is great league to work on the finer details and Taylor and his staff are strong at the devlopment side of the game and that makes Rochester the best place for him. If you call him up now you risk him never being more than a shot.
