How he's doing at development camp, nobody talk about him anymore. Other prospect surpassed him?

He has yet to participate on the ice at development camp. I am not sure about today, but I can tell you he wasn't here for the first two days. So maybe he isn't even here?

Curious to know why he's on the roster but PHam is reporting he's not there. Is he there but not on the ice? Is he just not there?

Carl Grundström plays on Olofsson's team in Sweden (Frölunda) and he is not at the Leafs camp

I believe Frölunda has some training camp going on right now

12 points in 14 playoff games and he's on the 4th line?

By the way, don't his rights expire this year?

Pre-season lines in the shl are all over the place. Some coaches likes to put the linemates together early and if someone is missing they put junior players into their slot and bump the line down the depth chart to avoid a complete tombola.
Others just shuffle wildly.
Also, the lines might not be written from 1->4. Many coaches tries to get away from that hierarchy.

Frölunda is a team focused on player agency and development. The players have a huge part in how they play and everybody is given a fair opportunity (ice time) to make the team.

Sure but Olofsson has gotten very low ice time in years past, despite being a top TOI producer in the league.

First CHL game today and Olofsson seems to be playing with Ryan Lasch which will ensure a lot of playing time. Two goals in two periods for Victor so far.

Just noticed that both goals were on the pp (which is Victors speciality) so that the assists on both goals were from Lasch doesn't necessarily mean that they are on the same line at even strength.

@SabresProspects -

Victor Olofsson and Frolunda HC begin Champions Hockey League play today versus the ZSC Lions of the Swiss League.

Olofsson sneaks backdoor into lower right circle and buries the one-timer to get Frolunda on the board. PP #Goalofsson #Sabres

Olofsson standing out this period with a few choice opportunities. He was due. Just had another nice chance. FHC trails ZSC Lions 3-1 in 2nd.

Olofsson gets his second PPG of the period. Pass came from same spot, found him in same spot. Roofed it high glove. Specialist.

LaxSabre - Frolunda HC won the game 5-4 in overtime on a goal by Ryan Lasch.

MÃ…Ã…Ã…Ã…Ã…L! 12:28 into the second period we reduce 1-2 by Victor Olofsson splashing into a direct shot from the right.

MÃ…Ã…Ã…Ã…L! With 1:19 left of the second period reduces we again in numerically over location, and it is once again Victor Olofsson who makes it!

He's a '14 draft pick...how long do we have his rights before he becomes a free agent?

I know it's 4 years post-draft for college players.

Do we have his rights beyond this season?

According to Bakes' site, this is his last year. Must be signed by next July 1th.
Contract up too.
ELC then Rochester....me thinks.
Kid might be a one trick pony (PP) but he can snipe.
Sabres need snipers.

Should probably sign him to an ELC asap then.

If you wait until after this season and he has a good season such that he would be desirable to the Sabres and other NHL teams, why would he sign with Buffalo at that point? He could just wait a few months, become a free agent, and sign anywhere. Better to sign him this summer so they don't risk losing him for nothing.

Since he is already under contract in Sweden, I don't think he can sign until his season ends.
I could be wrong.
Maybe like JJ last year. Sign with Roch. Impress. Get ELC.
Assuming he wants to come here of course.
And that Botts sees him as NHL caliber.

@SabresProspects - 8/24 Recap: Olofsson Snipes - http://www.sabresprospects.com/2017/08/824-recap-olofsson-snipes.html

We've been talking for a few years now how Swedish forward Victor Olofsson's shooting skills have been leveraged as a bit of a power play specialist in the Swedish Hockey League. Olofsson was at it again Thursday, sniping a pair of darn-near identical markers with the man advantage as Frolunda HC opened Champions Hockey League action with a 5-4 overtime victory the ZSC Lions. Olofsson has been playing fourth-line forward minutes with Carl Grundstrom (TOR) and Lias Andersson (NYR), but you can see why he is on the Indians' top unit power play.
