he's already way better than Krug at the same age...
How do you know that?
Krug had 6 points in 15 games in the playoffs. That is nearly half of Victor Mete's production in 71 regular season games. Also, let's stop pretending that every player can pan out exactly like other players. Brent Burns broke out in his 30s, does that mean that every single defenseman in the league could break out in a similar fashion in their 30s? No, it's VERY unlikely.

That is the most ridiculous argument ever. Is Yakupov way better than Panarin because he was in the NHL at 19 and Panarin was in the KHL at 19? Of course not.

You said he is way better than Krug at the same age. I proved to you how that isn't the case in the seaons where they were 20 years old.

It's not a stretch to think Mete could get up in the Krug catagory at some point.
Victor had 15 goals his last year of junior and 44 points in 50 games.
Krug started his first full season with Boston at 23 years of age.
Where do you think Victor could be at that age?
20 years old is very tough to play D in the NHL. Forward is so much easier. I can see how a young kid just focuses on keeping it simple and he was great doing that.
It's very dumb to limit his offensive potential based on what a 20 year old kid shows in the NHL.
Nathan Beaulieu scored a dozen each of his last 3 Jr years, got 52 pts in 53 Jr games his last year
Josh Gorges scored 11 his last two Jr seasons, was over PPG in one of those
Craig Rivet scored 19 and 12 his last two Jr years was over PPG both seasons
Mark Barbeiro scored 15 and 19 his last two Jr years, got 60 pts in his last one.
Darrern Dietz scored 15 and 24 his last two Jr years
Jordie Benn scored 14 in his last Jr season
Joe Morrow scored 17 and was over PPG his last Jr season
Noah Juulsen scored a dozen his last Jr year
Brandon Davidson scored 13 his last Junior season
Xavier Ouellet scored 21 and got 60 pts in his 3rd Jr season

it's also very dumb to judge a kids potential on ONE Junior season.

He just needs one to go in. Even if it absolutely sucks and goes in off of someone's face; that'll finally get the elephant out of the room and raise his confidence a little bit.

He's gotten ones that have been called off and he's gotten plenty of Grade A chances. They will eventually start going in. Not saying he'll get 10 a year or anything but even 4-5 is more of an improvement.

Lol Metes always in the offensive zone. The reason why yall stupid enough to whine about his shot is because hes in those situations, he doesnt get gifted with crazy one-timers from McDavid, he skates the puck up himself and creates chances.

Its crazy how bad the average hockey fan is at evaluating talent.

nah. any 20 year old could've done the same as Mete has. oh and 19 too. they just need the opportunity. throw any 20 year old beside Weber on a first pairing and they'll finish almost with a +20. This is just good old boy down home common sense. as well as any other 20 year old BESIDES Mete will get better. Mete won't. He'd be a #7 in the KHL.

It's all a crapshoot but I like the way he looks as a player always keeping in mind he's only 20 and at that age to play D in the NHL is pretty good.

Mete is progressing very well in a tough situation. Not many 19/20 year olds could be put in the situation of having to play 1st pairing minutes and look as good as him. Some goals and assists will come, he just has to trust his instincts in joining the play..
