This year he has just three assists in 19 games, and for a player drafted as a potential offensive defenseman, it is unlikely he gets signed by the Lightning.
Yeah, I'd say highly unlikely since we traded Gotovets almost a year ago for Philippe Paradis.

Hey look another uninspired and uninformed article about the Lightning.

Can you guys please hire someone to write about us that actually, you know, knows about us?

AND FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST, UPDATE THE GOD DAMN LOGO.

Hedman is still nowhere near as effective as Pronger was during his prime. Thats nothing against Hedman though, really...many d-men never will be. Closest thing to Pronger right now in NHL is Shea Weber and even he isn't quite at Pronger's level. You could say a guy like Jacob Trouba potentially could be a good comparison someday as Trouba has quite the mean streak, high end skating ability and offensive tools to boot...plus great hockey sense.

Yeah, as much as there's something to be said for rest, I think big game experience is important for a young player so I would've liked to see him go.

For Sweden players..

Hedman:
#1 for SHP (all skaters)
#2 in points (D)
#2 in goals for (D)
#2 in assists for (D)
#7 in scoring (all skaters)
#8 for assists (all skaters)
#9 for +/- (all skaters)
#9 in goals (all skaters)

Sure stats don't say everything but this man should be on the first defensive line for Sweden...

He really turned the corner to elite this year. It's been incredible to watch. I had concerns about Hedman right up until this beginning of this year. Glad he's proved me wrong. Hedmonster Lives.

As a Sens fan, from the few games i've seen him in this year, he's been a total beast. Congrats on your team success this year, you guys have a pretty good team :)

Imagine what his stats would look like if he hadn't missed those games. Probably 3 or 4 in points amongst defensemen.

According to TSN he's on a pace for 56 points in 75 games. So a full 82 would give him something around 60. Considering he'd never scored 30 before, this is the definition of a "breakout year."

Next year could be even better though, because Hedman didn't morph all the way into Hedmonster until November.

I'm a Canucks fan and I have no clue how Edler is on Team Sweden over Hedman.

He is already better than Edler and how he's not on the reserve list is mind-boggling.

Politics.

Yup. There is no other reason for him to not even make the reserve list. Hell, he probably could be on the 1st pairing, definitely top 4. To not even make the reserve list is ridiculous.

Mårt´s said that Hedman is good at many things, but he isnt great in anything specifik.. Thats why he´s not in the squad or reservelist..
