Ottawa got rid of both these goalies for practically nada.

They got a 1st rounder for him, which is pretty damn good because a goalie should never go for a 1st, and Lehner didnt much of a track record when he got traded.

The Bishop trade was pretty bad.

In this thread, fans of teams with a goalie who had a .920 sv%.... but played in 10 more games than the three finalists, have a conniption.
What goalies/fanbases were that? I'm pretty sure only Darcy Kuemper had a .920%+ save percentage and played in more games than any of the three finalists.

Bishop over Lehner but close. Vasi was good but on a stacked team and folded like a folding table in the playoffs

So happy to see Lehner having the season he has had. He will most likely finished at 3.

Bishop and Vasilievsky will probably be close for the top spot.. it's a crapshoot but I am going with Vasilievsky based on the W column only.

Frankly, given GMs suddenly decided that GP and wins didn't matter, I'm surprised not to see Binnington in the list of "finalists".

Before the playoffs started, Vasi was a no brainer. If they voted right after the season ended, than Vasilevsky takes it easiley. In people's minds you are as good as your last games were.

Bishop should definitely get it. His numbers got better as the season went on. Even if with more games played and eventually the numbers started to go down, they would have started coming down when his save % and GAA were even better than .934 and 1.98 and even with a drop may have ended up that good after 60+ games.

Bishop was the best goalie, but Vasy will win it on GP and wins. Second time he’ll lose out despite being the best

I think Vas should get it. Bishop went on a crazy tear at the end of the year and had fantastic numbers. But at less than 50 games I don't think it warrants a Vezina.

Dont think Val should win it. He had a stacked regular season team in front of him.

Tampa is a good offensive team. Defensively above average as well but nothing crazy compared to a team like Dallas.

Not sure if this is true. Bishop came on real strong late and propelled his team to the playoffs while surpassing Lehner statistically. Lehner came up real clutch late to secure the Islanders home ice advantage rd one.
