Starting to look like he'll top out as a Yakov Trenin type player. Not good for 10th overall but not a complete bust.
Same thought. We are getting a low event bottom 6 player. Stings when you see guys like Boldy or Caufield there, but what helps sooths the sting is knowing we picked Hoglander in the same draft. Not the worst Benning draft (unlike 2016).

Well if it’s true what the LA play by play guys were saying about him last game - that the Kings were looking over their shoulder to avoid being hit by him and surrendering the puck …. This is a very promising sign right

Was flying out there last night. Arguably our best forward.

Despite the concerns about his production, if he continues to play like this he's gonna put up some pretty decent numbers. Next year will be his coming out party.

Just needs some hi-tech Drago summer training montage

I do love what Podz has been bringing to the team in terms of the eye test, weird that he feels a lot more noticeable in a good way than during his rookie season, but the production just isn't there.

Pod has another level and it's hardcore.

We saw it in the Olympics and last night in the first.

Agreed to a 2 year extension. Pretty happy about this, while he hasn't shown his offensive upside, he can play like a bowling ball and plays hard, we need more players that play this type of game, hopefully his offensive side really start to develop.

He has the talent to score some pretty goals. I’m sure he will get there. I’m not saying he will light the world on fire though. Go watch the highlights of his rookie seasons. He can score it’s only a matter of time.

He is definitely snakebitten, as long as he is not costing the team games, 2 year show me deal is perfect for both sides. He needs to be very patiently developed, which is unfortunate given his draft position, he needs to play more like a bowling ball and learn from some of the more PF types on the team.

I cannot wait to see if his game changes in playoffs, he has an internal straitjacket that prevents him from playing with instinct, i wonder how he will perform if he plays angry.

Which is ironic given how many here were angry after hearing Benning and Weisbrod had moved Hoglander up the list and "stripping" Brackett of his authority.

It is also an example of how in certain drafts the difference between a late top 10 pick and a pick in the high teens isn't that big given that there's no consensus and teams are seemingly not giving up enough assets to trade up these days. If your draft targets are gone, the perceived drop off can be steep.
