All the insiders should probably only note when Tampa Bay is NOT looking for a RHD. Otherwise, we can just always correctly assume they are.

Does something around Justin Schultz and JT Miller work for TB? Assuming Miller would re-sign.

Miller's an RFA with arbitration rights. If you get him, you've got him.

I actually was hoping we'd take a flyer on Schultz when you guys did. Our D is so prone to hiccups though that I'm not sure we could afford a guy with Schultz's history. How good is he defensively these days?

Good lord. First Beagle and now Anisimov. Please explain your obsession with mediocre players?

Amisimov would be a perfect fit for the 3rd line and Beagle is one of the Best 4th line centers in the NHL.

You do realize we need 4 centers right? You get this? Who would you bring in? No Nylander cannot be an answer because the report says the team is targeting a 3rd line center which indicates they don't see Nylander as a 3rd line center because if they did they wouldn't be targeting one.

He’s pretty solid. One of our better defenders actually, probably 2nd behind Dumo this year (Letang had a down year)

Yes, I get it. They need centres. But not a $4.5 million guy who can barely score 40 points even after getting about 2 minutes of PP time a game and Kane as a winger. And not a 32 year old face-off specialist UFA looking for a multiyear deal.

So back to my question who do you bring in?

Schultz only has two years left on his deal and I think we’re looking for a longer term solution. We’re actually fine at RD next season (though an upgrade on Girardi would certainly not be unwelcome) - it’s the following year when Stralman and Girardi (as well as McDonagh and Coburn on the left) will have had their deals expire that we’ll really need somebody.

Also since we’re going to be bringing up a number of defensive prospects over the next few years I suspect that we’d rather whoever we bring in be stronger defensively and capable of babysitting a younger d-man. Schultz doesn’t really fit that description.

Potential Bozak replacements
Spooner (someone else bought him up in this thread)
Kevin Hayes
Jared McCann
Thornton
Nic Petan
Nylander

Potential 4C replacements
Lindholm
Aaltonen
I don't really care as long as they aren't paid more than $1.5 million and aren't signed to a multi year deal

I don't think Domi is the right winger for the Pens. He's puck-dominant and his hockey sense isn't noteworthy.

They should focus on wingers who are cheap and smart off the puck.
