If you miss a game, do you read the GDT's here afterwards? Listening to a podcast or post-game radio is pretty similar to coming here and seeing what people thought of the game.

I've missed a few games and periods this season (my kids hockey schedule seems to line up with the Canucks') and I come here and go other places to see what people are saying....and also watch the extended highlights.

Nope, I rarely go on the GDT thread. I usually log onto TSN app and check the score and stats. If anything big happened some headline would pop up on the ad. I would watch the extended highlights on youtube. If there's something interesting to discuss I rather see what happened myself first. FB Canucks page usually has Green's post game interview.

What you recommended was a podcast that might not be uploaded after the game and is about 30 minutes long.

You should hit up the GDT's, @mossey3535 's posts about goaltending are some of the most insightful on this entire forum.

Hi JD, thanks for stopping by. Please forgive the typos. But by all means, don't feel like you should just lurk. I know it feels safe on twitter but we would appreciate the input here.

I mentioned it earlier in this thread, but Justin Morissette's "Locked on Canucks" podcast has been handy for someone like me who can't often watch games as it is uploaded often enough (theoretically daily, but not always) and is short enough (around 30 minutes) that it serves as more of a real-time news source than a lot of podcasts. And despite the short format, Justin does more than review what happened in the most recent game – he does discuss trends, talks to guests, takes questions, etc. I've found it's very digestible.

Thanks for this. I didn't know he started another one.

Been following the Canucks for most of their 50-year history; and listened to post-game shows from the days they were carried on CKNW and on a bunch of stations since then. And I can say without any hesitation or much debate that Sportsnet 650's post game show is the worst I've ever heard. Period. It's so bad, it's almost comical.

Is anyone else out there disappointed in John Shorthouse?...That he's getting paid I guess for stumping for the Personal Injury Lawyers T.V. ads in their fight with ICBC. Kinda surprised he'd do it, since it's pretty apparent to me he knows nothing about public auto insurance and how lawyers have billed ICBC for billions over the years--which you and I will all pay for in the end.

He needs to stick to Budget Brake and Muffer; Boston Pizza or whoever else he wants to do commercials for...and stay out of political fights. I think the lawyers are just using him.

This is off topic, but do you know anybody who has been in a car accident? ICBC and insurance companies are generally not on your side. Personal injury lawyers actually don't bill ICBC. Outside lawyers that ICBC hires do but if they charge too much ICBC can rectify that. ICBC could set the rates for lawyers they hire at a very low rate if they want to. They can also set the rate for their medical experts. But they don't.

What you're paying for is government and management incompetence and bad drivers.

I just went through this recently. ICBC was a nightmare to deal with. I went the first few months after the accident without involving a lawyer until it became extremely clear they were trying to get it settled as fast as possible and as cheaply as possible.

Just an example, they made an offer to me where the compensation offered for wage losses worked out to be less the minimum wage and then gave me attitude when I said "uhhh hold up, that isn't right." Anyone who deals with ICBC without representation is a sucker in my opinion. (Unless it's a minor accident.)

I hope you are ok. But ya, my friend has been having a bad experience with ICBC as well. At first she was getting her treatments funded no problem. It then took longer and longer to get treatments approved until she said F it and she paid for her own treatments and hired a lawyer. It's like if you're a victim of a car accident and you're making a claim you're the enemy and the bad driver is the client.

They’ve done stuff like send a settlement Cheque despite not agreeing to a settlement essentially saying if you cash this settlement cheque, that’s it.

I wish nothing but the worst for their employees who call and harass people.

Nah. Best lawyer up even if it's a minor accident. ICBC isn't a real insurance company. It just a government cash grab like casinos and lotteries.

I hope I live long enough for private auto insurance to make its return to B.C. Then the personal injury lawyers would have to get in line to get paid, like everyone else. And I guarantee you, they wouldn't have enough money to pay Shorty to be their mouthpiece.

Not much wonder ICBC is $2-3 billion in the hole.....and you know who's going to pay in the end.

Sounds like someone has drank the kool aid. You should look into how much ICBC pays out for their own medical experts/specialists. Quite a few of them make over $500K a year from ICBC. Perhaps if they forced those medical experts to charge less it would go a long way to making up the deficit? Cause ICBC was profitable a few years back.
