If his NHL contract starts this season, then yes. It's possible his contract doesn't start until next season.

ELC length is determined by age. Teves is 24, so he had to sign a one year ELC.

You don't sign a guy like Teivo expecting he'll be in the NHL anytime soon, and between the NHL-AHL and injuries each side should have 8 players on your depth chart.

They need 9 LHD not 5. Edit: also likely means McEneny is done with the org. Kid can’t stay healthy

Haven't seen the details but I'm guessing that this deal is for next season and he will join Utica on a tryout basis. There is no reason to have this guy in Vancouver right now; the Comets might actually be able to use him.

PS, he's a right-hand shot. EDIT: Nope, hockeydb.com error, he is a lefty.

His contract is for this season according to Patrick Johnston. So the Canucks streak of burning a year off of college signings continues.
