How the f*** does Tanner Pearson get that kind of money in a flat cap. Every one is going to make less $. Taylor Hall likely won't even get 6M on a long term deal if he signs one with any team and Tanner Pearson is getting 3M over 3 years with expansion protection.

Unless he's getting an amazing bargain on Hughes and Pettersson, Benning needs to be fired.

Such an average player. Not sure why you need to commit to 3 more years and expansion protection (are the Nucks hard-up on guys to protect up front?) during a flat-cap era. At least he's taking a bit less than his current bloated salary.

Fun fact: He actually averages more even-strength ice time per game than Pettersson and is putting up his epic 11 points in 33 games while being a top-6 PP TOI/G forward. So the brain trust of Benning+Green obviously view him as a core player they couldn't lose.
