If you don't understand how freeing up 9 mil in cap space from a position of strength and getting tradable assets would help the Preds then I cant help you.

Yeah and you need to use that cap space on player(s) more impactful than Subban and then use those tradeable assets to improve the team even further at a position of need. Not exactly an easy thing to do in one offseason.

That’s a giant NO from the Canucks. We already traded McCann during our “rebuild”, no need to trade a top 10 pick as well.

Maybe. If I was Poile making a wall chart of all the offers I get for Subban or Ellis, and trying to figure out which one made the most sense to help improve the team, I'd at least let that one past the first cut.

I think it does have to become a "process" like that for the Preds though - we aren't going to look at one decent offer in isolation and shout "Done!", we'll have to consider all the permutations and combinations of what's out there for either Subban or Ellis.
