As an islanders fan myself, allow me to be the voice of reason for you and say "hahahhahahha"
if you honestly believe that Cairns cost us the entire series with the Stanley Cup champions you're dreaming. He MAY have cost us that ONE game---but to say that he cost us the entire series against that caliber team is ludicris! I am no Cairns fan myself...and I am hoping that he isn't allowed to return.
now as for the comparsion to Valabik, I think you can pick out any defensemen was picked strictly because he's a "giant" despite there being major flaws in their game. Although I believe Valabik does have an offensive upside that Cairns never really did (despite one pretty good season in the OHL). Thus far I have heard people compare Valabik to Kudroc, Mezei and in a dream world Chara. But speaking as an Islanders fan once again--I sure hope the sweater that Valabik pulls on this saturday is different from those other 3.
