1 thing I don't quite understand is why wasn't the ball in Lowry's hands during the end of 1st OT play? Why Powell? Powell hit some big shots, but I trust Lowry the most.

Interesting that he seemed to be the wrong guy to take the shot in OT1 but was absolutely great in OT2 when the other legs were getting a little wobbly out there.

Got to think Powell being the freshest player heading into the second OT had a big role in his shot-making ability. That and his commercials with Osmos.

Siakam doesn't have a high basketball IQ. They need him to play hard D and limit his touches when away from the basket. His length should be an advantage down low but is too unreliable in getting off clean shots.

Agreed, he has his hands full on the defensive end. Very few players can bring it at both ends simultaneously. We have plenty of outside threats that can take care of the offensive end.

Didn't this exact scenario happen to the Celtics in 2018 east final? Went up 2-0 against LBJ then Cleveland tied the series, Boston won game 5 and Cleveland won games 6 and 7. Let's hope history repeats itself.

Powell had the matchup against Kemba Walker. Lowry had 6’8 Jayson Tatum, VanVleet had 6’4 all defensive team Marcus Smart.

Have to hold for the last shot and can’t turn it over... Driving brings Smart or Brown into play for the strip and you don’t want to rely on the whistle.

Powell can create his own shot and we know he can make those. No issue with that play. They gave themselves a chance to win while ensuring Boston wouldn’t get one. Low risk, high reward. That’s what you want in that situation.

The refs were reviewing the call, which is why Boston wasn't pressing yet. They would have pressed that inbounds too.

It doesn't matter though? If you inbound the ball into the defensive 2 point zone and don't foul, with 0.5 seconds left it's literally impossible for the opposition to score 3 points. Not enough time for a pass to the 3 point line and shot as the moment anyone touches the ball the clock starts. You could literally pass it directly to an opposition player underneath the basket and auto win

Ya you are probably right.

Celtics reddit and RealGM are still so salty about Lowry and Nurse LOL. If you need a laugh go over there and read some of the stuff.

Another tip of the cap to OG.
He was playing....what...centre? Rebounded like a beast and won three jump balls.
And.
What *was* the big issue with Nurse anyway?

I think they’re mad that Nurse voiced his frustration with Tatum committing offensive fouls that result in him shooting free throws..

... and more recently, mad that Tatum couldn’t differentiate 6’8 Daniel Theis in the green Celtics jersey vs 6’ Nick Nurse in the grey polo straddling the corner lines.
