I want Horford too, but "any means" basically means cutting away all of the team's depth. It means not having any of the FAs come back and probably dropping Joseph and/or Patterson and more beyond that considering that Carroll likely isn't going anywhere (not necessarily for need/immobility, but from an optics standpoint of not wanting to boot a guy less than a year after signing him to a big FA contract.)

You'd have Horford and Lowry and Valanciunas.... and almost nothing else.

For those who want a picture of our 16/17 cap situation.

Assuming DD gets his max contract (~$25 million), adding in Ross' $11 million, the 9th overall pick and removing Bismack's $3 million will put us at around $97 million. The projected cap is $92 million. This situation is much more tricky than people think.

What Masai plans to do with DD will be crucial.
