Rebounding and defense was brutal tonight. Cavs were on the second game of a back to back too. Should've had this one if we played some D.

Still kept it respectable when the Raps just didn't have anything tonight.

Rebound killed us tonight. Period. When Amir is your top scorer... yikes! Also hate how cocky LeBron gets, just pathetic.

Btw, How good is Tristan?? Has he been good all season?

Rebounds
Cavaliers: 48
Raptors: 40

What killed the Raptors was this:

Cavaliers: 49% from the field, 45% from 3 point range on 20 3pt attempts

Raptors: 41% from the field, 33% from 3 point range on 24 3pt attempts

What killed the Raptors was not shooting well and letting the Cavs make a ton of shots, especially 3s.

The reason it seems like the rebounding killed the Raptors is the greater # of missed shots for them, which gave Cleveland more defensive rebounds

Offensive rebounds
TOR: 14
CLE: 15

Defensive rebounds
TOR: 26 (off 43 missed CLE field goals. 60% of CLE misses were rebounded by TOR)
CLE: 33 (off 51 missed TOR field goals. 65% of TOR misses were rebounded by CLE)

If Cleveland had 51 misses, the Raptors at that rate would've had 30-31 defensive boards. The Cavs would've also picked up 2-3 more offensive boards, and the final hypothetical rebounding stats would've been 44-45 for Toronto and 50-51 for Cleveland, a smaller gap than the actual game had.

Yes, the Raptors could use better rebounding to help them out, especially if they're going to shoot so much. But if they can keep the shooting %s closer, it's not nearly as much of a factor as it's made out tibe.

The cav's have appeared to figure things out. But as bad as we played we still stayed in it for most of the game. Have to move on from a bad game and get the next one.

In all honesty, the schedule is so easy for the Raps in December (with the exception of the end of the month) a game like this serves more as a lesson than anything else.

I fully expect them to be 24-8 by the end of the month. They'll beat the Cavs on Tuesday im guessing and go on a tear after (playing the Knicks twice, Pistons, Nets Magic, Pacers, Nuggets twice) and likely losing games to the Clippers, Warriors and Bulls.

The Raptors are a good team too, why would they lose all games to the Clippers, Warriors, and Bulls? The Raps are more than good enough to win games against those teams.

The Clippers will kill us down low (and have the third best offense in the league), the Warriors actually have the best defense in the league right now in addition to their ridiculous offense, and Chicago has already proven to be a tough matchup for us. We can win those games but it certainly won't be easy, especially if DD is still out.

Really looking forward to this stretch of games!

yeah but we need DD's defense badly
Oh well

Well maybe not his actual defensive play. But him being on the court definitely allows our offence to be just as effective playing a much slower pace, which is where our team and defence excels. It's clear him being on the court helps us.

Anyone who expected to win this game with no Demar was kidding them selves.
The team is good but not that good. Demar keeps the defense honest and sure he has his brain cramps at times but for the most part he's a pretty difficult match up for anyone in the league.

Also factor in that for the love of god only knows why JV was sitting on the bench. Come of coach on JV's worst day he's still better then Chuck who was on the floor basically 1/2 or more of the 4th quater Phyco T was the other.

The coaching staff needs to let JV learn from his mistakes and play through those kind of games so he can find ways to pull himself out of those kind of black hole quarters/half's/games.

I honestly don't know what Casey thinks guys like Chuck Hayse or Hansbrough bring that JV can't even on a bad night?

One of the few bright spots for the Denver Nuggets this season has been point guard Ty Lawson, who is average 10 assists per game. Denver plays the Raptors at the ACC Monday night.

The Raptors were betting favorites in this game. If you were so sure they would lose, I hope you made some "easy" money. :)

Really that's what you're going to come back at me with? If they had the raps as the favourites to win that game one would have to question their ability to do their job. And that's nothing against the raps it's just how much Demar means to this team

And people can say what they want about the Cavs but that team is going to start clicking and lately have been playing some good ball. The story could have been different with Demar in the line-up but regardless it still would have been a pretty tough game.

But they were favorites, it's a fact. I'm just suggesting you keep an eye on the lines and if you're sure they're missing something, you have a chance to profit. Cleveland won mostly because they shot the ball well, the Raps shot the ball very poorly. Every team has off days, it happens.

It's not easy to make money betting on NBA games. It can be done though, as far as I know there is one person in the world doing it, maybe there are more that I'm not aware of. Maybe you'll be next. If you want to educate us though, I suggest next time you think the bookmakers are way off, tell us before the game, you will have much more credibility that way. You can start with tomorrows game if you like. We'll see what the betting line is tomorrow, based on the fact that Toronto was favored by 4 at home, Cleveland should be favored by maybe 5 or so (based on the fact that this time, Cleveland is the home team). We'll see what the line is tomorrow, and if you think it's obvious who we should bet on, you'll have the opportunity to tell us BEFORE the game is played.
