The Menace are, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most dominant soccer clubs in the lower ranks of American soccer, and a move to the USL Championship (or even League One, which fits the population size for communities like Des Moines) should suffice for them. That said, that's an awful lot of money for a soccer-specific venue, even if the team is historically competitive, and it can be modified for, say, high school football or concerts, it's still a substantial amount of money to invest to make the jump.

Private investors to get onboard the project may be one of the big challenges.
