I'm usually suprised by the players that get picked for this team. There are usually guys I'd never expect to be there that are and others I had counted on being there that weren't.

The biggest surprise for me was that d-man Tysen Dowzak didn't make the team. He's been hyped as a potential first round NHL draft pick for years. I suppose it's possible that they just don't think he'll be that effective in a European tournament.

I'm curious to know who you think the NHL scouts will be looking at.

Conway and Sauer are both well regarded. I've heard some people say that Sauer could potentially be a first round pick next year. If Al Montoya leaves Michigan it's likely that Sauer will be joining the team. That would certainly give him a better opportunity to get exposure and challenge himself. Conway could be the starter for the Attack this year depending on what happens with Mike Brown.

Kampfer was always a player who was said to have very good skills but was very undersized (5'10" 180). The fact that he has grown to 6'0" could mean that NHL scouts might pay attention to him now.

I know nothing about Daniel Lawson but his size is something that must catch pro scouts eyes. Anyone know anything about him?

Okposo has been mentioned often around here but one player I'm really interested to hear more about is Michael Forney. I had never thought he was supposed to be much of a prospect but some months back Woodlief mentioned him as being a potential first round NHL draft pick (Link). That's only one opinion but he certainly seems to have the kind of package NHL scouts look for in a player. Anyone have any opinions on him?

Any comments on any other players?

Anyone have information on Brian Keane?

All I can really tell you is that he'll be playing with Chicago in the USHL this season and then will be going to U-Mass Amherst the season after that.

What about Drayson Bowman? Shouldn't he be somewhere close to being on this team?

He's an '89. He could have potentially been on the U17 Select team that was named earlier this month but he didn't attend the Select 16 festival.
