As someone who watches every single game in Providence, while seeing multiple defenders try and make keeps at the line, I stand by my word choice.

Maybe this display isn’t “flashy” enough for some. For me? Watching a defender being able to operate in a margin this small, while not making a mistake, impresses me greatly— hence my choice of words.

He’s a left-shot. If he tried to make the pass to the “open winger” to the right of him, he would have had to put the puck through the defender closing in on him. That wouldn’t have worked and he wouldn’t have made the play.
