It's ridiculous as ****.

He was **** last year and this year looked more of the same. On top, he's injury prone as hell. He's one of those guys that gave us a glimpse of his potential and will never show us it again.

Perhaps this was discussed already, but can anyone be certain that these were concussions that he dealt with? Reason I am asking is because after every concussion he had, he was back on the ice within a week, and playing games shortly after. Same with this one, back on ice 2 days after apparent concussion and is now day to day. I know it is different from person to person, but look at Rick Nash, he is still dealing with concussion symptoms months and months after he got it.

Besides, it wouldnt be 1st time pens player was treated for concussion, and was reported as such, only to be something else (see Sid)

I think in the post Crosby concussion era of this team, and with CTE now wide out in the open. I simply think Pittsburgh is being one of those teams being extremely cautious when it comes to concussions. Not saying Murray did or did not have a concussion from that extended practice this time, minor or major, but I do believe this was mostly a cautionary measure.

Time has faded my memory with Sid. I remember them all obviously the HAS followed by concussions. My point in posting is this: so what did sid have? Concussion or neck injury ... the washington outdoor game and the Hedman hit. Didn't he have some spinal specialist involved too? I need a refresher from someone in the know.

I remember reading the NHL used scrub unqualified spotters whom never pulled a player after a questionable head contact.
I noticed the NFL pulling players often after helmet contact this season (especially from what little football I watch).
Is the NHL finally getting on top of concussions and using properly trained and qualified spotters this year?

If there are spotters.. I feel like more netminders should be pulled out. they get hit in the head a lot...

There is definitely spotters. Just who they are and are they even medically qualified to notice head injuries is the question. They weren't.

Agreed. No such thing as overly cautious.

This twitter thing is getting irritating. Is HF working on fixing it or are we going to have to start posting the text again?

Honestly, the last thing this team should be doing is letting Murray travel with the team. I would force him to rest another week or two to allow him to work on his mechanics. Because you know that 2nd annual Murray injury that takes him out for a week or two is not far away.

If DeSmith isn’t starting against MTL, I’ll be pissed...not just for Murray’s health but I think he deserves to play until he looks like crap...he’s been head and shoulders better than Murray to start the season...yes, it’s only one game but Sully owes it to the team to give him an extended look....

If he's healthy, fine, let Desmith play till he loses

If Murray isn't healthy enough to start, he needs to not be on the bench

It's actually a Twitter issue, so we have no control over it. You can always click on the 'Loading' link to go to the original Tweet.

That figures. I have been clicking, but it's getting irritating to have to load 5 new windows per page. I may have to suck it up and dust off the old twitter account, and just read the tweets in my feed.
