As negative as these remarks by JR and Sully are toward Kessel, it says a lot about the org's opinion of Sprong that they still wouldn't bench Phil even for a game to play him.
That was an awful playoff performance by Phil.
Do you have a source?
Also, since we can only embed a certain number of Tweets, I've updated the spreadsheet with the information we have regarding injuries. The link is in the first post, and here

Yes, Phil Kessel was hurt, but did it matter?Kessel did not talk, but his coach and general manager addressed his health.
In different ways, too.
Both said Kessel was not healthy, but they split on how much those injuries hindered the right wing, who was coming off one of the best regular seasons of his career.
We all guessed at Geno’s injury, that one isn’t surprising. Then saying Kessel isn’t severely injured makes me think he just doesn’t need surgery. Curious what Brassard has, he was completely ineffective, makes sense something was holding him back.
Sully says Kessel injury "nothing significant"?? Does not pass the eye test.
Is he calling Phil out? this is so strange....
I have to wonder whether HCMS went to management and said something like " Phil is injured and he needs rest but won't take it. I want to sit him." Management "it's up to how Phil feels". Think that's possible?Phil has never exactly been Sully's favorite person...
The rumor was Brassard's was his groin.
Only game he really looked ok was G5 vs WSH.
Kessel wasn't the guy keeping Sprong out of the lineup. It was Sheary, who I think is as good as gone based on the "great nucleus but there will be changes" in addition to "Sprong will be a regular next year" comments. As negative as these remarks by JR and Sully are toward Kessel, it says a lot about the org's opinion of Sprong that they still wouldn't bench Phil even for a game to play him.
