There a good article by Katie Strang in The Athletic about the Red Wings' decision to release Zadina for the WJC. I won't quote the whole article, but this is great to hear:
“He still has consistency issues; he knows that,” [Ryan] Martin said, “but I cannot recall a player, maybe Tyler Bertuzzi, who has the same want and desire to get better and who wants to be told what to do to get to the next level. He’s the first to acknowledge his mistakes, when he needs more film work, more skill development. He wants to fix it. It’s incredible, his want and desire to get better.”
