Very unfortunate, all the best for him. Funny photo choice though, suggests no Lack of social media mentorship from Luongo.

ASU Sun Devil hockey. Honestly had no idea that was a thing.

They've quietly put together a competitive program. They finished #15 in the final poll last season and made the postseason bracket.

A few years back, they hosted the USTNDP (Keller/Bellows/Fox/Oettinger/etc) so I used that as an excuse to visit my buddy who had moved to Tempe. They're starting to attract some NHL prospects.

Joey Daccord was drafted by Ottawa, turned pro last season, and got into an NHL game. He was still using his ASU gear.

Austin Lemieux (son of Mario) is on the roster, Jackson Niedermayer is slated to start next year. I'm still hoping a couple Pac-12 schools will start up D1 hockey programs. Not sure what prompted it, but ASU is hosting Harvard for a pair of games in December at the Anaheim Ducks practice rink in Irvine.

Infrastructure has been steadily getting better in California, so it'd be nice to have some more local options if kids want to pursue college hockey. It was amusing, but my buddy had put a job offer on the table to a guy in Phoenix, but it was contingent on whether the guy's kid got drafted into the WHL (he didn't). [/coolstorybro]

So he's still trying to make the NHL?
Also that's pretty cool for the ASU goalies.

Could he/social media person not find a more flattering picture of him?

Good luck to him in future endeavors, his pro career is probably over

He’s one of the good guys of the game. The struggles over the past few years make more sense now. Hope he does well in a coaching role.
