How could you possibly know that. Your assuptions dont have any basis in facts

Well... Considering the Oilers just missed the playoffs and they don’t have allot of peices worth trading for(besides McDavid or Draisaitl of coarse, everything else is pretty much pocket lint being thrown at Ottawa while other teams have successful teams who would throw better players there way or better prospects or simple more qaulity peices.

A more likely trade to Edmonton is probably Hoffman. He’s the guy they need on mcdavid’s wing who is a trigger man and can skate with him. Obviously has a huge caveat with the accusations out there but he would make the oilers a much better team at a good cap hit.

I’m fairly certain Hoffman is gone from Ottawa so he can likely be had for cheap so long as his GF isn’t the locker room cancer that is rumoured

Again for you Sens fans that think they are in control. What if Karlsson will not agree to that? What if he says he is going to free agency period? So if he will not do a trade and sign then what? You keep him and let him walk for nothing.
So to wrap this up for you........ The Sens have no control
If we get to next year's trade deadline you'll have a point. Till then, not so much.

Soooooo. If Karlsson will not agree in principal to an extension then Ottawa is keeping him and letting him go to free agency? Interesting idea. Not smart but interesting.
You truly have no clue.

It is in all parties interests to move a signed EK at this point in time if the Sens decide to put him on the block.

EK gets security and control of which team he goes to in a trade.

The team trading for EK, as they get one of the best players in the NHL locked up for 8 years.

The Sens, as they get a return fitting for one of the top plyers in the league.

IF EK indicates he's not signing with anyone until he hits free agency and tests the market, then the Sens are left with two choices. 1) trade him as a rental at the TDL to the highest bidder on his list. 2) Keep him to the end of season and then attempt to re-sign him...like Stamkos and Tavares.

If the Sens select to trade him at the TDL, then the return would be roughly the same (if not better) as they'd get now.

Please stop with your fantasy offers where the Sens are forced to deal EK now at a rental cost. There is no chance in hell of it happening.

Sens have to retain his girlfriend and Oilers add a 2nd to any deal.

It’s ok, his gf fits with the cesspool we’re working on here in Ottawa, if true of course.

Given Dorion’s History it’d probably be Hoffman for lucic and we retain Hoffman gf plus WE toss in a second as Edmonton pays lucic’s Bonus this year. We’ve done that twice for the worse player in recent history

Karlsson would be good in Edmonton and cheaper than Ottawa fanbase thinks. He has demanded a trade, it's reported. That impacts return! The marketplace is not friendly. Ottawa would be crazy to act in haste. They will only get pieces for a franchise guy. The gaping hole in their line-up wouldn't be worth it!

Senators are going through a rough patch. NBD. They must mend the Karlsson relationship. This is their only viable option.

EK did not request a trade, it was speculated that he may request a trade. The TSN guys even came out and refuted that story as bunk, they were being tagged as the source of that rumour. Given our season try not to pile on, we have enough real crap going on without fake news
