The only reason why people hate Roman Reigns is because he won instead of Daniel Bryan in the 2015 Royal Rumble.

I especially didn't like the Cena-Wyatt match. Like was what we saw on the TV screen supposed to be what was in Cena's mind or something? It just reminded me of in WCW 1998 when Hogan was looking in the mirror and saw Warrior in it but Bischoff wasn't seeing the same thing so they were implying it was in Hogan's head, even though the audience could see Warrior.

I think the Taker AJ match was better. I was ok with it cause Fiend is crazy and you gotta give it some leash but I get where you come from. When fans get back I don't wanna see those matches but untl then.....

His heel turn is long overdue.

I can't remember what Wrestlemania it was but he cut a promo during the pre-show where he was backstage entering the arena. He had his hair slicked back into a ponytail and was wearing sunglasses. And he cut the promo at the beginning like a heel. Cocky and arrogant. Then he switched gears halfway through the promo, kinda like the first part was all sarcasm, and went back to his "aww shucks" face character. But you could see the natural heel sitting below the surface.

I still contend WWE missed the boat completely that Raw right after WM 33 where he supposedly retired the Undertaker. He came out to open the show and kept putting the mic up to his face to speak, and the boos got louder, and he'd put the mic down, pause, and attempt to speak again, and the boos rained down some more, and eventually claimed it's his yard now. He was getting, in my opinion, Mr. McMahon 1998 level heat. Just off the charts. A week later, he's backstage cutting a promo back to his face character before he gets jumped by a heel Stroman to ignite their feud.

How creative didn't feel that legit heat he at the post-WM Raw and not run with it is beyond me. He should of been the hottest heel in the business 3 years ago.

But I think you are missing this: Just like happened with a fellow Samoan his playing bad ass heel will end up being seen as cool by the modern audience and turn him into a gigantic babyface.

Absolutely. If they had jumped on his heel turn when they should of back in 2017, they'd already have their mega-babyface, probably 2 years ago.

Which was made it even more mystifying why they kept Reigns as a face. When they can just look at history and see that their last 3 megastars (Austin/Rock/Cena) all caught fire as heels. Even factions like nWo, DX, and the early iteration of the Shield started out as heels and the fans forced transitions to baby-face groups (or in nWo case the creation of the fan favorite nWo Wolfpac faction). I also felt the WWE dropped the ball on the Shield as a top babyface group when they came off that hot feud with Evolution only to split them up with Rollins going heel.

WWE should have put more emphasis on wrestling and guys such as Andre, Hulk, and UW should have been mid carders.

Do you mean first great Wrestlemania main event, or first great main event in all of wrestling? Either way I think that Savage - Hogan from Wrestlemania 5 was very good to great as a main event.

I don't think that it's that simple. WWE's usage of Reigns is the biggest factor in his reaction, I'll agree, but if he was good enough to justify his push then he wouldn't get so much crap. He comes out with some pretty douchey quotes outside of wrestling too honestly, but I don't know if people "hate" him for that. If WWE really is going forward with heel Reigns I look forward to seeing his reactions (as much as is possible with no fans in the arena) now that WWE did what basically everyone wanted in the first place.

I meant the former and edited my original post, but I respect your opinion. The first one that really excited me was Bret Hart lost the WWF World Heavyweight Championship to Shawn Michaels in a 60-minute Iron Man match. If the script hadn't been written by Americans... ;)

I think the main event of WM VI was fantastic. Two larger than life characters in front of 60,000 fans. Peak Warrior and not far off Peak Hogan. Even though neither guy was know as an all-time great worker like a Michaels or Angle, both put on arguably the best match of their careers. Hogan vs. Andre was a bigger spectacle, but it wasn't a great match. The main event of WM VI had all of the elements and it was a great match.

    How is he good?

He sucks on the mic and is very limited in the ring. Doesn't have much charisma either. I think he's pretty awful.

I feel like Cena's endless run on top benefits Reigns when it comes to how people assess his in-ring work. He's not great by any means but he's clearly well above Cena. Cena was a better talker and had more charisma, not that it translated into great promos though. I see Reigns as a mid-card talent but I would be happy to be proven wrong.

I think the Roman Reigns character has been shit on for so long that people soured on his in-ring work. I honestly think it’s solid.

Meltzer is bad for the industry.

He's one of the main drivers of the "you gotta do 1000 moves in 10 minutes to have a 5 star match" cancer that is killing things. His match ratings and personal preferences have molded the smarks image of a perfect match so that we have gymnastics instead of wrestling.

The best wrestling matches dont rely on work rate or even ring work (to a degree). The best ones tell a story, get you emotionally invested in the outcome, and sell you on it. Otherwise you just clap for the spots and forget the match 5 minutes after the bell. Which hurts the business because actual feuds and storylines are abandoned to get the cheap clap because the audience is not emotionally invested anymore.

side note, I miss when wrestlers would work a body part and sell how it was limiting them.

I couldn't disagree more. I don't wanna see some cheesy storyline such as Heaven vs Hell. I wanna see a good match such as the one above.

    we're saying the same thing.

tell a story with the match, the psychology, the timing. All crucial things to being a top worker. Nowhere did I mention cheesy storylines at all.

I was putting down the "doing moves just to do moves" modern wrestling in favor of older wrestling where the moves had a purpose to them

I agree for the most part regarding Meltzer. A lot of fans online seemingly don't bother thinking and defer to whatever they heard Meltzer say. He's a good reporter though. I also prefer storylines to a high workrate match, not that such things are mutually exclusive.

NXT is currently in its worst era since its inception.

Nakamura is a great wrestler, and is still fine when barely even trying.

I don't think Wyatt or The Fiend are particularly great.

The Fiend had an awesome buildup and debut at last year's Summerslam but almost everything about the character since then has sucked. I hope he goes back to regular Bray Wyatt.

JBL's WWE Title run was actually entertaining, and it gets way too much hate.

WWE has the most and best talent it’s ever had and somehow it’s still worse than ever before.

Don’t like Hangman Page as a face, and i really think he shouldn’t have such a huge role in AEW, he is okay in the ring but his style gets boring super fast and he can’t carry a main event.

AEW shouldn’t hire all the ex-WWE talent, they have so much talent of their own and they’re more interesting to a new watcher.

Kenny Omega really needs to tone down the move spamming, he used to have such a well build and versatile moveset and now it just seems he spams knees, chops and snap tiger.
