I am having problems finding any info on this so I wanted to start this thread. The MHL put together a team of the MHL players that will tour North America . The team is called "Red Stars" and leaving for North America in a couple of days. The first game is on Dec. 27th against Holy Cross college team.

If someone has their full schedule please post it here.

Yes, excluding top guys like Tarasenko and Kuznetsov who are with the KHL teams. Basically this should be the best players outside of those who are going to the WJC. This should be a pretty good team.

Players to watch: Tochitsky&Konozov (great 1-2 punch in the MHL), Dedunov and Khokhryakov played WJC last year, Lazarev is a very talented player, Vilkoits is good, already scored in the KHL.
Among defensemen, Marchenko is a stud, Isangulov is a very big guy, Churlyaev is very good and Kostromitin played 2 years major junior. Goalie Smiryagin is one of the MHL finest

Is Shalunov actually established as a KHL player? I was very surprised not finding him at that team, specially when he had a terrific start at MHL, and i thought this was a good chance to have some exposition to NHL scouts.

If he is a regular player of KHL, how is he doing?

KHL isn't on break, some of the guys on this team could be needed by their teams, so I guess it's a matter of their team releasing a player or not, plust they wanted to bring an experienced team so they don't get hustled by NA physicality. Also the goal here is not only to bring the strongest team possible, but expose as many MHL teams as possible, imho.

They should run through every team they play on that schedule posted.

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to have this team playing CHL teams?

Sorry, I completely missed Yale there. Yeah, that's a great match up. Was just puzzled that they're playing Jr B all star teams and Wellington from the OPJHL. Seem like they'd be mismatches.

those are Jr A teams to start with. Secondly CHL teams didn't wanna player, that's second. Initially it was supposed to be USA only tourney, but then they found opponents in Canada.

Not sure if you're familliar with the OPJHL, but it's not exactly a strong league. Yes, it's "Jr A" bit it's a far cry from the CHL.

It's too bad the CHL wasn't interested. Would have been interesting to see how they match up.

I am familiar with the league, I know it's a notch below CHL, but it's Junior A hockey, no need to call it Jr B which it isn't...

after first Yale is up 2:1

if MHL team dominates this series, may be CHL teams will show some interest....but facing a strong opponent like Yale - we'll see...by the way Notre Dame is coming to tour Russia (moscow, st.petersburg and omsk in august)

I know the Lewiston Maineiacs had a chance to play a team from Russia on New Years Eve, but QMJHL said they couldn't play an exhibition game during the regular season.

Is this the same team thats playing the EJHL All-Stars?

Yale wins 5:3, I am not surprised but I expected a different outcome. But heavy travel and 2nd game in two nights against a better team than the Army is not an easy task...Although MHL did outshoot Yale by 8, they got outscored by two
