Let's have a bit of fun since we're already out of the playoffs. Let's rank guys that have a chance to stick around through this "rebuild"

Let's vote based on everything : ability, skill, skating, hockey sense, potential, certainty, leadership, physicality, etc. Ask yourself this question :

Who among this pool of players would I draft BPA if it was my turn to pick?

Tell me if I forgot someone notable, then later tell me who to add (but not yet)

Notable guys you left off, in order:

1. Balcers
2. Crookshank
3. Paul
4. Luchuk

I would definitely add Balcers....I feel like maybe you just forgot him.... and the other 3 I would start adding once we're outside of the top 10 or so. None of these guys will be going top 5 or anything but I'd have all of them over at least one guy on the list

Thanks for doing this!!! It will be fun :)

No problem! (that's all we have left)

Yeah just forgot Balcers and Crookshank, thought I had them in the options already, I'll add them in the next poll that I'll be making tonight since Chabot is going to win this by a landslide.

Lets also do a poll of top over 25 y/o players. It will be quick

1. Chabot
2. Batherson
3. Brannstrom
4. Duclair (if he wants he can easily be #2)
5. White (Few younger players will overtake him soon)

Man.. that is a sweet 16. I can see every single guy on there being a regular NHLer who makes positive contributions.

This is based mostly on upside.

If the question is asking for top 25 current ability/development (not potential) it feels like ...

1. Chabot
2. White
3. Tkachuk
4. Wolanin/Lajoie/Jaros
5. Brannstrom/Batherson
6. Formenton/Balcers.

I am eager for the potential of players like Brown or Norris but if they step into a NHL game tomorrow I don't expect more out of them than Balcers/Formenton. It is bold to assume Brannstrom is currently ahead of Jaros/Wolanin/Lajoie etc. I hope it is true. Jaros is contributing more than what I would expect out of Batherson or Brannstrom if they were called up tomorrow.

IMO we have a clear top 4 (potential).

A+ They have the potential to be a top 15 player at their position in the league (you could argue Chabot is almost there already).
1. Chabot
2. Tkachuk

A Clear top line, top pairing potential
3/4(tie). Batherson
3/4(tie). Brannstrom

Then it's a bit of a drop off after that.
B+ Top 6, Top 4 potential
5. White
6. Brown
7. Duclair
8. JBD
9. Tierney

B Middle 6, Bottom 4 potential
10. Norris
11. Formenton
12. Lajoie
13. Wolanin

The rest are either bottom 6 or bottom pairing, or a boom-or-bust type (ie. Abramov)
