206) Vancouver Canucks - Fleuryfan29 - SKIPPED PICK

215) Vancouver Canucks - Jon Burke -
217) Toronto Maple Leafs - Fleuryfan29 -
239) Pittsburgh Penguins - Fleuryfan29 -

Does pick 206 belong to Vancouver or one of Fleuryfan29's teams?

I'll assume interim GM duties of Toronto, and make up my picks right now...

Toronto is pleased to select center Eric Lindros, a hometown boy.

Vancouver is pleased to select center Kris Draper, who won the Selke this year and will be counted on to supply both offense and defense to the Canucks.

Draper went at 175 to the NYR.

Canucks pick right winger Igor Grigorenko, a promising prospect whom they feel is close to being NHL ready.

The Leafs pick defenseman Paul Martin, who had a big freshman season for the Devils, establishing himself as one of the up-and-coming blueline stars of the NHL.

Yeah, I think you're right that he's still available. Nice pick, BTW, considering it's the 8th round.

Nice deal for Atlanta, IMO. I like Phillips, but Lemieux is one of the best in the game...

A healthy Lemieux is worth a lot more, but I couldn't stand having $11 mil tied up in Mario and Stevie Y when they have averaged less than a full season between them over the last 3 years. A healthy Mario is worth $5.2 mil, but he's only played 101 games in 3 years.

So how long before a guy gets skipped? Is there a set time limit?

OK, looking back I find a 12 hour limit set. Using that since Niinimaa was picked on the 1st, we've had enough time to skip picks so that MichaelK would be on the clock for pick 229. I mention this because with 12 hours per pick it will take a year to finish this draft, and at our current pace it will take OVER THREE YEARS to finish the draft.

Sometimes the draft moves fast, sometimes it doesn't. Just the way things go.

Yes but there's slow and there's SLOW! Even having a pick every 6 hours will only get the draft over by the end of February. Allowing 3 days without a pick being skipped let alone one actually made, can't be allowed if there's any hope of this actually getting done.

It's already been 17 hours since the last pick, so have you given up on the 12 hour limit?

I don't have the time to be Mr. Policeman. This draft can be yours if you want...
