If Florida is smart they will let one or both of Hoffman and Dadonov walk.

they have young guys like Heponiemi coming up and need to make room for them. No need to overspend on those UFAs.

With the news of Tarasenko’s shoulder requiring another surgery which would take 6 months or possibly longer to recover that may just give the blues enough ltir space to fit AP under the cap. Tarasenko counts $7.5 mill and I’m guessing AP is targeting the Jossi contract at $9 mill range.

that could get them through next season after which Steen and Bozak and both goalies come off the books. That is around $19 mill.

Wasn't Heponiemi a disaster in the ahl last year?

They are a bottom5 team next year if they walk, well to be fair they are looking at missing the playoffs with both on the roster

Eh, we have Denisenko+Tippett.

I think we only keep one, but the concern is term: I think Hoffman will be effective for the next few years, but will he be when he's 35?

Barkov+Huberdeau are coming off their contracts in 22 and 23; right now we anticipate giving them Stralman's money+Yandle's money respectively.

Barkov is an UFA after two more seasons. They have to try to start winning very soon if they hope to try to retain him.

The problem is that team is build so bad and top prospects are busting so how are they going to do it?

Always seems that ownership keeps changing their minds on whether they wish to actually spend money or not. Every couple of years they spend only to dump players 2 years later. A year from now Barkov can sign an extension otherwise they go into the 21-22 season like NJ did with Hall.
