Meh more qualifying round games for them is good news for other PL teams.

Still embarrassing though that you needed a Bulgarian side to go to 9 men and needing a pen to advance.

Spurs and Copenhagen come from behind to advance in their ties, easy wins for Granada, Rangers and Galatasaray

In terms of upsets, Finnish side KuPS defeated Slovan Bratislava on penalty kicks after needing a 120th minute equalizer in extra time

Riga-Tre Fiori has been abandoned due to strong winds breaking some parts of the stadium so the ref decided not to continue the game. Due to the short time period of the next match, according to twitter, it doesn't seem this game will continue tomorrow as small sides like these already have their travel arrangements and the team from San Marino is leaving Latvia tonight

BATE out as well. Reims, Basel, Malmö holding on to small leads deep into the 2nd half of their games. Steaua tied against some Serbian team.

lol crazy game between Steaua and Topola. Steaua going up 4-3 a man up only to concede in the final minute. Topola then had another man sent off, but still came back to 5-5 and 6-6 in ET :D but Steaua still won after penalties

The playoff draw was just completed, probably the biggest match on paper is a potential Besiktas-Milan tie, which a few years back you probably could have seen in the Champions League. Spurs after two trips to EE could potentially get a home playoff tie, Rangers could host Galatasaray while Celtic face a trip to the former YU

Ah okay.

Great draw for Charleroi. Unique chance for them to go to a group stage. They have had a fantastic start to the season so far, winning all 5 games and already leading the Belgian league by 5 points. Home games against Partizan and Apollon/Poznan shouldn't be an impossible task, even though I have no idea how good those teams are. But being unseeded they could have done much worse.

Standard are seeded (in both rounds IIRC) but to draw Reims is kinda tough. Still though, they'll also get them at home, so not impossible.

yeah tough task for Reims who haven't looked good in the league so far. Current form is a big thing right now.

My Djurgården playing well against Cluj in the first half, but still 0-0. Cluj are a good team but dive like idiots

Ops I wrote this in the CL thread instead of this:

This Cluj team is embarrassing. Probably taller and wider than us at every position but fall and roll around every chance they get. Think Italy at their best

Terrible season for Russian clubs so far, Dynamo eliminated in the last round and today Rostov lost at home to Maccabi Haifa

Reims going to penalty kicks against Fehervar

Rostov manager with the skull t-shirt, leather jacket, and black gloves was a great look, though.

Unrelated question, but in terms of country coefficients, does the quality of opponent factor into the ranking or is it just how far teams progress in the competition?

It’s simply based on results, strength of opponents don’t matter. However there are bonus points involved in the Champions League which you don’t get in the EL (for example qualifying for the CL gets you 4 bonus points, making the EL gets you nothing extra)

Reims is out, lost on penalties, think Fehervar eliminated Bordeaux too a few years back
