The US won thier exhibition game against Team Pacific earlier today by a score of 3-1...

USA Hockey Wrap-Up

The only score which was put up on the Hockey Canada site was for this game although it has since been taken down, probably because the stat system they are using was incorporating the exhibition scores into the tournament scoring. While the score was close the US outshot Team Pacific by 15+ shots (US had around 40-45 shots while Pacific had about 25+ IIRC). If the US can carry this kind of play into the tournament they should be very strong.

You should probably make this thread a sticky so it will stay up on the first page...

For some reason Hockey Canada has the 5-2 Ontario game against the Czechs. Of course it's the Slovaks they beat...

Here's the exhibition scores:

ON 5 SVK 2 ex
WST 7 GER 5 ex
PAC 1 USA 3 ex
QC 3 RUS 3 ex
ATL 2 FIN 5 ex

And the games on today:

01 15:30 SVK vs USA Mile One Stadium
02 15:30 RUS vs PAC Glacier
03 19:30 ON vs FIN Glacier
04 18:30 Opening Ceremonies Mile One Stadium
05 19:30 QC vs ATL

The Russia-Pacific game should be one of the better games of the day, although the Atlantic-Quebec would be interesting to me (if only I were there).

Hope to see some game reports from folks on the Rock...

Go RUSSIA!

3rd period

3-1 Rus-Pacific

one question.

who should be the strongest of the canadian teams? Quebec?

Most would probably say that Team Pacific has the strongest roster on paper as far as the Canadian teams go. Gilbert Brule, who scored the two goals the tie the game late, is possibly the best '87 born player in North America after Crosby.

Gilbert Brule nets 2 goals and adds an assist to lead Team Pacific in their opening game at the U17 World Tournament. Russia had led 3 - 1 until Brule stepped it up! Brock Bradford had 2 assists and Danny Bertram had 1 assist. Nick Drazenovic from the PG Cougars of the WHL had the first Team Pacific goal.

Team Pacific has a very tough sched and they could very well miss the playoff round if they don't gel right away. Ontario and Quebec should be the next strongest Canadian regions.

I'm friends with one of the players on Team Pacific and apparently Bertram tore his MCL. Not a good sign for that team.
