Bukharts (1995) and specially Lipsbergs (1994) are the best players of Latvia on this tournament.

it's not that unusual nowadays that an average russian junior squad like the 94ers can't blow out a clearly above average talented swiss team.

especially in younger ageclasses the russians tend to get outplayed teamtactically, and win their games mainly on superior skill.

    no surprise there

blow out? how about a win in regulation? This squad won every single game in the U17 tournament just prior to this.

yep, I know. nevertheless they already played each other this year in chicago with a 1 goal win for russia.

Look, the Swiss do obviously not have a player of Grigorenko's quality but through all junior teams they developed lately a more aggressiv gameplan with much more forechecking, something the Russians normally don't like too much. and beside the Swedish (that are a terrible match up) they can trouble any uncareful opponent when having a very good day.

For the Swiss: Bertschy (21), J. Schmutz (13) and Brandi (18) look promising in various sequences
