Lerg has looked good so far for the U.S. Anyone have any information on him?

He's small (5'9") but the U18 team's leading scorer this year (23-25-48 in 50 games). He's going to Michigan but only after a year in junior first. He's supposed to be very firm in his UM commitment... no Nickerson bolting here.

I don't recall if he was CSB ranked or not.

In the Russia-Finland game today, it says Anton Khudobin scored... Never heard of him? He's Russia's goalie. Good for him! :highclap:

I wouldn't be so sure about Lerg not pulling a Nickerson. I've heard he's thinking about committing to either Michigan State or Miami Ohio becuase he doesn't want to play another year of juniors and Michigan has no room for him next year. Also, he's not rated by CSB or the Redline Report.

Who the heck is Roman Tomanek?
Here's what I have on him:

Born Jan. 28, 1986. 6'0" 175 lbs. Winger.

Played with Povazska Bystrica (1st League) in Slovakia (it must be just below the main league, I guess) 29 GP, 11 G, 9 A, 20 PTS, 30 PIM.

He's doing pretty well in the tournament, though.

Liam playes for the Peterborough Petes in the OHL. In his first seasron this year he amased a team leading 31 goals and 64 points. Very impressive for a 17 year old rookie in the OHL. I didn't see his name on the midterm draft rankings, so im not sure if hes going to opt into the draft this year or not.

I have known Liam Reddox since he was eight years old. He played his first two years of rep hockey in Whitby with my son. He went to play in Toronto starting in minor atom and played there throughout the rest of his minor career. I would venture that Liam has been the leading scorer on every minor hockey team he's ever played on. He's a strong skater and has great hands and finishing ability.

He played and scored a lot for Wellington in tier two last year and as another poster pointed out, he led the Petes in scoring as a rookie this year. The knock on him is that he's not very big, probably 5-10 or 5-11, but he's a solid kid and all he knows how to do is score. From here on in there will be all sorts of people telling him he's not big enough but I expect he'll just keep putting the puck in the net and proving them wrong. I think he's scored at least one goal in each of Canada's games at the U-18.

What does one goal on 39 shots say for Schneider in the US nets? If anyone got to see or spoke with anyone at the game i'd love to know the quality of the shots and how schneider has looked so far and specifically in this game. His stock has got to be on the up just a little bit, especially if as everyone was saying this tournament can make or break a guys draft status.

I saw Schneider this past summer...he did great in the week of action I saw....He was at the Gamblers camp in Green Bay....he's a 1st round pick and with a great U-18...not to mention that he reminds me of Marc-Andre Fleury a bit...he could be the first goalie off board. If Schwarz falls that is.

Hey Bob, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on Adam Berti who played for Oshawa Minor (and, of course, now the Generals) as I'm sure you would be quite familiar with him. Any input would be much appreciated.

So then, Bob, the real question becomes:

What draft year is young Bob McKenzie junior eligable for?
