Amazing to not get taken to the woodshed with this contract, pretty much the perfect medium-term deal for a player like Barrie. We get him from ages 30-32 for below what I (and probably most here) perceive his market value to be.

Also have to say, been such a huge fan of Barrie’s since his Avs days and was ecstatic that he came here last year. The damper on it for me was it looked like a 1 year one and done type deal.

Toronto media did nothing. Babcock tried to destroy him and when he was fired, Barrie was good.

Everyone on HF was predicting 6-6.5 on the open market 6 was deemed fair. He definitely took a hometown discount, because he enjoyed his time here.
