Niinimaki... I would love to read/watch/learn the story behind that pick. It baffled everyone on the planet, except for the clowns who made it.
Then they hit homeruns with Stoll and Greene. I mean that's exactly what we want out of our 2nd rounders is guys like that, but they go and ruin the rest of that draft with Niinimaki and not a whole heck of a lot out of the other 12 picks

Part of the reason it's a deal is they have all developed well and 'on schedule'. No later bloomers in the bunch is more confirmation they drafted well.

Europeans and college players can mislead in that regard though because they won't/can't necessarily sign as soon as junior players can.

I know it's off-topic, but I'm still convinced with how the league has changed the last 5-10 years, Rajala could have made it in this league.

I remember seeing some of his AHL games and he was very good.

Yup it's really too bad that he just never had any desire to play in the NHL because he could have been pretty good !

That's a pretty bold statement considering he hasn't even went to the KHL and dominated there.

He also has been out played by Marc Pouilot the past years
