groin injury perhaps for toffoli? that shot he tried he basically flubbed on it... if he wasnt hurt that shot goes in for sure. pick a corner too. but against tampa he's too slow.

Everyone was injured except a couple few. And Gallagher. How many injuries does this guy have?

He's not playing great & his shooting seems way off, but he's on pace to get 50pts this season, which would be his 2nd best season by points in his career.

Tracking for 16g, 34a. Weird for him to have 2x the assists over goals. He's playing pretty perimeter though, so wonder if he's dealing with some kind of injury too.

strangely enough, despite his awful season, Toffoli was on pace for a career-high in assists.

He is by far the best forward on this team, which highlights many things:

1) he's definately not the problem;
2) you keep him around to integrate the youngsters as a veteran;
3) he's cheap;
4) he won't complain and loves the town.

Whatever the new management decides to do at the deadline, Toffoli is one vet I would want us to keep . He's on a good contract and he's the one guy that has an easy chemistry with Suzuki, which is worth something in itself. If anything, I'd try to find a left shooting winger that could go well with these two and complement them for next season.

Gotta give it to him, Toffoli is back on track. He's got 17 points in the last 18 games. I too was unhappy with his start of the season, but he's a good player and I'm happy he's finding his game back.
It was bound to happen. I mean no way he would've went like 10 goals 8 assists, he's too good for that... Pretty happy with him too and also pretty happy he said he wants to stay and be a leader in a rebuild. This guy's got... yeah the ch word... character!

We have to keep this guy, he wants to be here, he's a solid player, no reason to trade him, we have other pieces that could fetch a solid return that don't want to be here anymore.

Absolutely and it is now clear that his slow start was due to injury / trouble recovering from long final run

Yes, they need to keep some players. I would keep with the young guys, Anderson, Dvorak, Toffoli and Edmundson.

The rest can be traded.

Everyone has a price, but I liked hearing his comments about wanting to be part of the solution.

As opposed to Gallagher's comments.

I'm paraphrasing but when he was asked about a potential rebuild, he said he basically didn't sign up for that and he'd have to sit down and talk with management if that's the direction they went in.
