The guy looks rough out there. He's played well in the playoffs in the past (2015, 2016), but he legitimately may be Tampa's weakest link up front in these playoffs. He seems to create nothing offensively and he's made some bad mistakes.

Is he hurt or something?

Nope just bad and it was the same in the regular season. Dude just has his head up his ass. Instead of playing to his strengths and going north south he does dumb crap like that.

He peaked 5 years ago. He's never ever getting anywhere close to that level again. He's just not that great anymore.

His main weapon was his speed. But NHL got a lot of speed since then. So he has no advantage anymore, only disadvantage of being a small dude.

The guys a winner.

Memorial Cup.
World Junior Gold.
Calder Cup.

Winning the cup will leave a legacy. He'd be one of the other only players to do this since Mike Richards. Only difference is Richards had an Olympic Gold.

He sucks now but I'm sure Lightning fans will appreciate what he did in the playoffs in 2015 and 2016 after he's gone. Especially when we didn't overpay the hell out of him like GM's tend to do after strong playoff runs.

He was so good in 2015, but just isn't the same player anymore. It's fine though, Tampa will just find another low round or undrafted gem to replace him eventually.

Don't forget that they'll also manage to get rid of his contract when it becomes a problem and extract a much better return than anybody expected in the process.

Last season was his peak. To have lead that stacked Tampa team in 5v5 goals is pretty amazing.

Not really when the 2 guys he played with had like 140 assists between them, his peak was easily 2015 when he actually controlled the play not just sat around and got set up all day.

He's not washed up but he can't generate on his own anymore, 18 goals, 38 points in 84 games this year.

Not like he's getting PP time though, i feel like thats solid secondary scoring production.

Yes.. there's a reason he's not on the PP...even with RH shot and Steven Stamkos out. PP time only matters if you can convert, Johnson has been given all kinds of chances on the top unit and finds himself demoted.
