He's always been a fun player to watch. I have to root for the "undersized" guys. He had a great game tonight.
The official story is he spent a little too much time in the weight room in the last two years and got too bulky, and he lost a lot of speed.
Seems like he found it.
That second goal is vintage Tyler Johnson. Feel like I haven't seen that guy in awhile.
was thinking the same thing.
Who needs stammers anyways amirite?
The second goal was nice.
Been a lot of hat tricks early this season it would seem - Toews, Johnson, Perron, Tavares, I'm probably missing some other players too.
He's been Tampa's best forward, and it's not even that close.
Based on Tampa fans comments in this thread, I'm now picking him up in my pool.
Remember when people said that Yzerman should trade Stammer and go with Johnson as their 1C? And remember when people said that Johnson should be traded for Luca Sbisa? He's a great top-6 guy, and that's what he'll always be.
1st thing I always think of with him is the lady on Kimmel
He is the new owner of the Carolina Hurricanes.
Hat tricks when the third goal is an empty netter don't deserve a thread.
I think it's more to do with Mrazek. Just ask Red Wing fans.
So why are you here?
I guess Gretzky racking up big boy numbers by piling on ENG's was no big deal either eh? I hate to say it but they're all created equal
To note that this particular hat trick was not noteworthy. I thought that was clear in my post?
Only thing you made clear was you took the time to post in a thread (and therefore also keep it from fading away) to say it's not noteworthy.
Yea but TVR.
I like that kid. Very nice.
While true, there's a big difference between Johnson with ALL of his speed vs. Johnson with 85% of his speed. When Johnson's skating like this, he really is a 1C, though maybe a low-tier 1C. The year the Triplets took over, Johnson was the best player on that line. It was before Kucherov became Kucherov, but still, those 72 points + an MVP-level playoff performance was not a fluke. If TB has that guy back again, playing at that level, look out. Because we have a lot of weapons we didn't have in 2015 now.
