I know he's a long shot to be anything in the NHL, but I have to wonder what is going on with him?
Last year he had 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points in 66 games. This year he already has 3 goals, 5 assists for 8 points in 7 games.
He has decent size, 6'2" and 180 lbs.
He's also pretty young (18 years old) but three years already with the 67s, so that means next year he can hop into the AHL if he wants.
There doesn't seem to be anyone in front of him last year except Toffoli.
So I have to wonder, what's going on with him? Is this year's fast start a fluke or is he finally getting his game together? And do you think he's a legitimate NHL prospect?
