He has shown that he can play at somewhat close to what he used to and isnt a slouch at all. He’s extremely cheap and he is still fast. Do the Leafs call up someone like Washington who is missing a first line winger for 20 games? Get a solid 4h like player like DSP?

Ennis sucks. No team should acquire him for anything more than a late round pick.

You don't get value solely from having a good camp. Let's wait until he plays some games.

First line winger holy hell  does that make Ty Rattie a first line winger too?

It’s gonna be a looooong season.

I’m not saying Ennis plays first line but you can put him 2nd/3rd and he won’t be out of place

I didn’t mean to say he is a first line winger, I just meant the leafs gave him slotted in a first line position until Nylander gets back and Ennis has done fine there so WSH could do the same thing or put him 2nd/3rd line

I’m sure Washington has a slew of guys they can slot in that can do what Ennis does. They love DSP, he’s not going to be available for Ennis.

I think receiving a 5th round pick would be a steal.
A few months ago anyone could have had him for cash.
I'd rather keep him and let him move up and down the lineup depending on Injury/Performance.

Hmm, so a team struggling to sign one of their top young players due to cap concerns has a someone who can allegedly play on the top line for under 1M and is looking to move him 1 game into the season? This passes the smell test.

I’m not looking to move him now, I’m just thinking if we get Nylander back and Ennis has been playing well, we signed him for free and we have the forward depth where we don’t need him, might as well see if you can get something for him

Yes he would be. He’s got the playstyle of a top 6 forward but he’s just not good enough. He doesn’t fit in a bottom 6 at all. Trust me, he played both for Minnesota.

He‘s a Leaf now. That alone puts him in the top 100.

undersized 30 point guy turning 29 years old tomorrow... peaked several years ago as a 20 goal/45 point type guy...

I guess if a team is content with not being able to compete for a playoff spot there might be room for a player like this on the team but anyone that actually wants to win games would attempt to find someone better

if he was on waivers and someone was crippled by injuries he might be worth a claim? honestly my bruins would have at least 5 guys in the ahl I would rather see get some games if we had injuries.

if I was Toronto... id probably just stick him in the pressbox in case the kids cant step up and take nylanders spot. as far as trade value goes... maybe if someone else had a contract they wanted to get rid of. like a mike camerelli or a jokkinen last year... that sort of thing

He had a good preseason but a terrible first game. Still, he has little to no value. Even if he puts together a solid first half he’s worth a mid round pick at best

He's worth very little to most teams. Actually the team he is probably worth the most to is Toronto. I doubt they trade him for a bottom pick.

Ennis doesn’t have any value. He also still needs to prove he’s an NHL player. Not sure what this thread is for.

just signed for a league min contract in his prime and hasn't done anything to change the outlook on him other than look passable in preseason, he's waiver fodder
